When I bought my car the front upper grill and surround had been painted matte black. I like the look since it matches the wheels, the paint job however was not the best. It's been on my to do list and I want to fix it. I can sand and repaint the surround but the grill would be easier to just replace. I have seen the OEM style replacement grills that are on EBay, ect. which are commonly used for the ISx50 guys doing ISF conversions. They are about half the price of the OEM parts and they come in black plastic rather then the painted finish of the OEM ISF grill. That's fine for me since I'm painting it anyways.
My question is regarding the quality and fitment. Has anyone used these grills? I would like to save some money but not at the expense of a poor quality part. Also if anyone has a used grill they want to sell or donate PM me.
Try using Plastidip. A few guys have used it on here. The great thing about it is if you don't like it, it peels right off!
My grill was painted matte black which is what I want to reproduce as I am happy with the color. The grill that is currently on the car had some chips and blemishes in it before it was painted so those imperfections will continue to show with another layer of paint or platidip.
I want to get a new grill and start fresh. I just don't want to my the aftermarket replacement grill if it is not up to OEM quality.
