Seen a few references but nothing definitive. Anyone run 255/285 setup lowered on Swifts/coilovers without rolled/shaved fenders? Seems like 275 lowered has no issues but I'm curious about 285 lowered.

yes I do, however my fronts are Falkens since they still have lots of thread left. i'm not sure of the offset of my aftermarket wheels since they were on car when purchased, but it was lowered more than it is now with KW V3 and didn't have any issues at all.

Just make sure you don't have 08' style rims.. You won't be able to mount 255 unless you have 2011+ rims (i think?)

2012+ wheels. Those are 0.5" wider. Yeah 255/285 on 8/9" wheel is too much. Sidewalls bulge and handling suffers

I should probably clarify: I have 2012 wheels, so I was looking for any experience with stock wheels. Thanks!

So those who have had Michelin pilot super sports and pole position s-04's, which would offer a more comfortable ride with less road noise for a daily driver? I'll assume either performs better than I would need most of the time.

you shouldn't have issues as OEM wheels offsets aren't that aggressive.

How many miles are these tires lasting for people? I've been reading reviews on how quickly they wear out.

Just ordered 255/35/19 and 285/30/19 pole positions. Have 2012 wheels and lowered on Swift springs.

Will report back when they come in and get installed - hoping no need to roll fenders.

My car came with Michelin PSS and I replaced them with S-04s for cost. Treadwear has already exceeded the PSS, dry traction is equivalent to PSS, cold traction is superior to the PSS, and noise/comfort are as good or better than PSS. My PSS showed a dramatic decrease in performance as the tire aged/cycled and tread went away. The PSS got hard and greasy feeling during driving as it got older. The S-04s are maintaining their performance after 12000 miles. I only got 10k miles out of the PSS. The S-04s look they will do 15k easy.

At 4mm tread depth on my PSS rears (275/30/19) I have noticed they are exceptionally slick when the temperature is 45F or below. I have S-04s on my Supra, but I hardly drive it, so I really can't comment on how they are after significant wear. My favorite Supra tire was the S-02 - I've never had a summer tire with the range of capability the S-02 had.

You only got 10k out of your PSS - fronts and rears? Was the wear even, or were they showing excessive inside edge wear? Just curious - I've never had any tire that short lived. I typically get 20k from rears and 30k from fronts.

When I purchased the car, it was not equipped with the RR Racing USRS so the inners of both fronts were shot @10k or probably earlier. I remember my shock at seeing threads when I inspected at full steering lock. The rears had somewhere between 3/32-4/32 (about 1/3 tread remaining) but spun on every hard launch or downshift hot or cold to the point where I didn't feel they were safe/useable. So, I replaced the set with the stock size (2010 rims) S-04s. With 12k logged on the S-04s, I still have (4/32-5/32) with good hookup (easily modulated) even in the cold. Warm days, hookup is great. I love the sound of the car and usually accelerate briskly, so my rears wear a little faster than the prudent person's might. I am usually around 2 rears to every front, but the S-04s may change that. Fingers crossed.

Pretty much my same response. My car came with a set kumho ecsta's (garbage) and then I replaced them with a set of Michelin PSS's...it's a good tire, but they just didn't last. They got real noisy and I was breaking traction off every launch and slipping in the turns as the tires wore down. I saw a couple of other members recommending this S-04's so I decided to give them a shot. Best tire I've had on my F so far. Very predictable, tire ware is great (even when lowered), good all season tire, and it just hooks! I just ordered another set of the S-04's two weeks ago, since I my original set lasted around 20k miles (daily commuting miles). On my stock 08 wheels, I'm running 245/35 up front and 285/30 in the rears.

^^^^Yep, I'm still very pleased with them. I originally went with the S-04 on my stock wheels because the PSS didn't come in 285/30/19. Since I have gone to RCF wheels (255/35/19 and 295/30/19) both sizes are available in the PSS. But, because I was so happy with them on my stock wheels, I elected to stay with Bridgestone.
