They got stolen off my car in the middle of the night while it was parked in my driveway, which was fully illuminated by 3 wall lanterns, and it was parked under a blinding 600W halogen motion light, AND I was even sitting in my office with the light on at the time (the window you see in the pic). And I live in a gated community, at the very back of the neighborhood, at the end of a cul-de-sac. They had definitely scoped the place out and came specifically for my wheels because they were in & out in under 20 minutes according to the gate records. And oh yeah, they were a set of custom designed Forgiatos worth about $13K, and my insurance company won't fully reimburse me since it's way over their coverage limit for aftermarket parts. Good times.
Well that completely and totally sucks. Those F'ing thieves must have been seasoned pro's, to pull off a heist like that and nobody saw or heard them! How did they get thru the gate to your neighborhood?

That's what the cops said, they think it was probably a crew who does this for a living. Maybe they drove around that day and saw my car parked out there (I was moving a bunch of crap around in the garage so it had been parked outside for a few days), or they saw me on the streets and followed me home. Or it could have been someone with a vendetta against me. And they got in the gate by trying a bunch of random codes - 1111, 2222 , 3333....got all the way to 7777 and then it opened up. Already had the HOA deactivate all gate codes with repetitive or sequential numbers, and all old codes have been deleted as well.

Yeah, they were definitely one of a kind. Forgiato said according to their records this is the ONLY set they have ever made with that exact model & color scheme. They were the Maglias with carbon fiber face & lip, and USB custom paint match everywhere else. The cops have basically told me they aren't going to pursue the matter at all since it was "just stolen wheels", unless I can provide them with a lead to follow. Wait, isn't that their job? They even took fingerprints & DNA samples and told me at the scene that they would run it through the system and see if they get any hits, but when I called to follow up on the results they told me they aren't going to waste any time or resources on running it but they'll keep it in file in case a suspect gets caught so they can use it as evidence. So basically they want me out their playing detective and vigilante, and then just call them when an arrest needs to be made?? And the wheels haven't shown up at any wheel or pawn shops around town - I've called them all several times, and I have Craigslist alerts set of for the wheel & tire brand (Ultrac Sessanta) on every CL region within 300 miles.
And there's more to the story, I just didn't post it all because I didn't want to hijack this thread and make it about my stolen wheels. I was going to start a new thread with more details about what happened.
Especially since one of the guys pointed a gun at my face through the window. That's part of the "more to the story" that I was going to mention in my thread....
