How much could I talk this ISF down to?
Hey guys,
There's a white 2008 Lexus ISF with 42k miles locally here at a dealership. They've had the car for about a month and told me they're definitely willing to negotiate (car is currently listed at $41,400). My budget would be about $35k... I know it isn't an easy question to answer, but would it be reasonable to get it down to that much? For those of you who have purchased used ISFs, could you please provide your input?

Does the car only have the standard 50k warranty or is Lexus providing an extended one? If it only has the standard warranty then 35 sounds fair but I doubt the dealer will do that. They may come down to 38. You can always make an offer.
Did you research other ISF within 500 miles and see what others are asking? I would search on autotrader and see. This should give you some ideas. If you find a couple less then present those to the dealer when making an offer.
I bought my parents car and it's an 08 isf fully loaded. 31k. When I financed the car I was told it appraised for 41 (this is always on the high side though) if my parents wanted a quick sale then they probably would have taken 35 but the car may have brought more. I get the family discount so I I paid much less.
Good luck in your search.

I doubt they will budge that much (~$6k). I would suggest hitting up cars.com or autotrader.com and printing out white ISF's with similar miles with lower prices, and use that to negotiate. When I negotiated I was only able to bring my price down $2k, considering the F is so rare on the East Coast (as is Ultrasonic Blue). $41k seems a bit steep for an F with 42k miles, so you should be able to find white F's with lower mileage.
Good luck... and PM me if you want some more tips on how to haggle!

35K would be tough. I was able to get mine for $45k with the same mileage out the door, the car was CPO though. They were asking for around $49k out the door. I would say at most you can try is about $41,400 out the door. So that would make the car around $38k

Being that its a dealership and I don't know how much taxes are in your area, but I have a feeling the lowest they'll go is $38500 or $39k...but after taxes and fees, you're still looking at roughly $42k out the door. I found my F listed for sale at $35,995...I was only able to talk them down to $34,400 but since CA taxes are so high, it ended up coming out to almost $39k by the time I drove away. Be prepared...

I agree. I worked at a toyota dealership for a bit, and although room for negotiation is a bit greater with pre owned vehicles because they tend to mark up a lot, 35k is asking a bit much from them. I'd be very suprised if you were able to do this, but if you do I'm happy for ya.

If it was dealer that would make it around 40k OTD after tax and license
