So, I thought how about the C-63, then I saw this...PIX inside
I have been going back and forth from BMW to ISF to C-63 and so i go to MBworld and see this:
Go here for the full story:
http://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w2...ead-bolts.html
I think I'll stay with Lexus Quality, even though it doesn't have the same impact on onlookers as the Three-tiped star of the Propellor Blades...lol I'm really feeling the ISf now...
From CEK at Mbwolrd:
This is from a 2010 model even though there is a TSB for the issue, and the engine is hand-built by one Man, if you don't have the best parts, it really doesn;t matter who builds it...
Follow link above for full story and please give your thoughts about Merc' Quality
How would you like to fix a leak by removing the entire engine...?

My friend has the C63amg, and we take turns taking out the cars when we go out. He even noticed that we get way more looks in the F than his Benz
...
Jeez thats crazy and scary to look at

What is crazy is that MB lets any MB tech tear down and rebuild an AMG hand built motor.
I would never trust a dealer service department (no matter which auto maker) to:
Remove my engine
completely tear down motor
replace all problem parts with new parts
rebuild motor
re-install motor
refill all fluids
and expect it to run like new. I would have put this thing for sale right away, or try and demand a new car or at the least, a new motor from a shipped crate from auto maker. So a kid goes to auto-school gets a little training and is now responsible for tearing down motors and rebuilding them of that quality? I'll pass.

I am sorry to here about this meltdown, but I am not at all surprised here. My buddy has had nothing but problems and poorly addressed issues with his Mercedes "Triple Tiped Star" racer.
More and more inveterate German car enthusiasts are seeking the F. I pulled into the lot the other day, "miles" away from the door bangers. After a few, someone was along side my car, checking out the F.
He stated, "I have been admiring your car from afar and love the mix of supercar performance and luxury." After discussing the machine, I asked what horse he rides, He said a Porsche 911 Turbo. He is getting ready to embrace Japan as well.
I think the F is really hard to beat for versatility, realiability and performance. I can't image how it was driving anything before the F, and I have only had the car for 3 months.

If you think Lexus and the ISF are immune to this sort of failure, think again. Check my post here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/car...t-74-days.html
My entire engine was pulled, torn down to nothing and rebuilt by the dealer. And it took them 4 months!
Engine **** of the ISF to come.

I hope I never run into any issues like that on my F....
I hear sooo many bmw fan boys talk about how great their M's are, but I've been telling them, I'm sticking with the reliability and lower maintenance cost with the F. They think their M3's are bullet proof... like most german engineering, I've only heard stories of all of the issues (from mechanical to electrical). Then again, I also think a lot of it comes down to maintenance and how you drive your car.

I had the exact same question and I asked it to the dealer when i was looking for the C63 before I got my ISF. I was told that there is one tech who knows the AMG. But looking at the past reliability I did not get germans but fell in love with the ISF.
I asked a similar question to the Lexus dealer that if (ever i win a lottery) and I get a LF, can they service it and fix any issues. I was told that every dealer who sells a LF can only service it as they have spent time and money to train a tech with LF.
