Damn, I hope i didn't do any damage to my engine. The other day I was driving, didn't realize it was in manual mode, went all the way to redline, then the exhaust was backfiring like crazy and felt like i was in limp mode.

Don't worry DCoolBeans was just joking.
When you hit redline in Manual Mode, the engine will not let you rev over it, you are fine.
Usually the problem that people have with "standard" manuals is that they downshift from 5th to 2nd while doing 80mph and mechanically over rev the motor, usually making the pistons kiss the valves, or causing the valves to float.
Your car is fine, just don't do that when the car is "cold".

We don't have the downshifting problems in our cars like manuals do. The car is smarter than the human, it will not let you downshift to a lower gear if it will be close to redline

These cars are idiot proof. They are designed to last regardless how you should "attempt" to drive. Just the other day I put mine in manual mode and when I took off I was in 2nd, I got on it and went to shift only to find out that I shifted the wrong way (trying to go from 2nd to first) but like I said the car idiot proof . Mine didn't downshift. I only did that because my M3 with smg was opposite when shifting so I'm not use to the isf yet.

At redline it doesn't shift for you, I learned this when I went to redline for the first few times after purchasing the car. I was in 3rd gear and kept accelerating but it kept bouncing off the rev limiter. Took me a while getting used to 416hp coming from a 140hp Integra
