08/10 ISF vs. 11/12 ISF
Hello all,
Could some of the ISF owners here have experienced driving or test drive the 2 version to give me some good pros and cons comparision. I try to upgrade to ISF very soon by this summer but I don't know which model year would be the best to get. I will only use the ISF for weekend and family ride around SCal. Most of car reviews said the 11/12 has better comfort drive than the 08-10, but the 08/10 has better used price deal on the market today which is approx 10k-20k cheaper. Well, this is all I can think of. What about any electronics, audio, nav system? Is there any differences? Obviously, the 11/12 has nicer DRL headlight, rim, blue F steering ..... which really look sleeker . I really appreciate all your feedback, inputs and comparision.
Thanks

2011 has improved suspension for better ride quality and steering input which gives it better road feel, 2011 also has real LSD, Nav was also upgrade to Harddrive set up and is much easier to use now, as well as restyled center console , LED DRL, new rim style and some slight cosmetic interior changes.
For me three most import upgrades were suspension, steering and LSD

Step up to 011 from 010 is another good upgrades and both would still save more than10k+ from a full tag 012. Will do a test drive both version regarding the major difference in suspension system. I'm not sure If an 08/09 ISF w/ 30k miles would be consider a good condition car to keep going past 100k w/o any problem.

You really need to drive both versions of the car to make that call. Go test drive an 08-09 then try an 11. you will be surprised at how different it feels on the road. I noticed it right away when I test drove the 11 for the first time. But I also had driven my 08 for a long time too. anyway there are a few threads on here with guys detailing their experiences between the two. This one is mine.

I went through this upgrade already, from 2008 ISF to 2012 ISF.
So far the differences that I've noticed are:
That's all I can remember now.
So far the differences that I've noticed are:
- Firmer but more comfortable ride.
- Thicker steering wheel.
- Missing turning AFS.
- iPod now connects through USB, no need for an expensive OEM adapter.
- Not all iPhones work with the 2012 ISF, the first iPhone is not supported, 3G/3GS/4/4S work OK.
- Sirius XM module is standard now (again, no need for the expensive adapter or conflict if you have the iPod adapter).
- Bluetooth audio works fine BUT it's just for streaming audio, you can't control the device from the car (so no music selection from the car's touchscreen or buttons).
- USB thumbdrives work as expected as long as you keep FAT32 as your file system. Faster response to commands than the iPod, no need to keep any device charged. Only drawback compared to the iPod is that there is no database to browse (artist/song/playlist/etc.), only folders.
- Single VDC/Snow button on the 2008 was split and now Snow button remains in the lower right side of the steering wheel, VDC was moved to the lower left side of the steering wheel.
- 2012 ML system sounds better than the 2008 version. Volume on the 2012 goes higher than 55 (limit on the 2008), however the overall volume is the same (so let's say volume at 40 on the 2008 sounds louder than 40 on the 2012).
- Navigation now shows exit information when driving on a HWY, before it worked that way only when in guidance mode.
- Touchscreen response on the 2012 is slower than on the 2008, at times it gets very annoying!
- Destination input on the 2008 is way easier and faster than the 2012 navigation. The 2012 system expects you to enter the city, otherwise it'll give you options from out of the state.
- Different dashboard. Some controls have changed like lock/unlock button on driver's door, open/close wheel on center vents, and sunroof controls (2008 is way better).
- Lexus Enform is part of the 2012 model, not available in the 2008. Paid service after the 1st year.
- 2012 rear wheels are 0.5-in wider.
That's all I can remember now.

I think the 08 Wheels are the best! Not because I have an 08 but I like the better! Also don't care for LSD, since I don't track and my 08 does good enough for me while turning. The only main reason for me to get a 2012 would just be the LEDS! Save money and buy an 08 unless your a baller!
