2019 Mid Ohio F the Track Day interest?
Autointerests.com has published their 2019 track schedule. A great organization and I thought I would try to get as many F's (other cars welcome!) to Mid Ohio (just north of Columbus).
The dates are May 13, June 10 (pending) and August 12.
If you are interested, please let me know and I will start the planning.
Gonna try tagging some people to help get the word out...
@5ltrv8 @Gearbangin @Jwconeil @RRRacing @Alizia @leisinjp @Nikeboi09 @DreDilla
@AutoAddict @GetKinetic @highrev6 @Biggu @breakeroh @danwlee @LRCSALES

I am interested. How many people run at one time? I have zero road course experience, so I will be driving slowly and letting everyone pass as I learn my car this season. I just want to make sure that won’t be a problem. If it is a crowded course, I don’t want to cause a hazard. I also don’t want someone to hit and damage my baby .

Interested as well. No experience either. Live 2.5 hours away from Columbus.

Also, how is the runoff? I’m ok sliding into grass, but prefer not to hit walls and trees .
ill run my old 19 setup since it has mediocre street tires. My new setup will have R comps and probably not great for learning.

I was nervous my first time but am hooked. The novice class is great. Inthink.ive.done about 6 events in Novice and am ready to.move to intermediate.
They provide an instructor in the passenger seat, only allow.passing with a point by and in certain areas. While there are other cars on the track, it is very laid back. Nobody is racing against each other. And after each session, they have classroom sessions to talk about the experience and reach you techniques. That's what helped me..
an organization focused on learning and yet having fun in a safe manner.

I say June 10th is a good date. Not yet into the "hot" part of the Ohio summer yet, but already pretty nice out.

Note that the June 10 date is unconfirmed for right now.
We actually lucked out this year for the August date. It was atypically in the 80s with a near miss of rain.

if you are new and truly want to drive hard and improve your skill, I highly recommend Putnam Park instead of Mid-O. Very little to hit at PP (just turn 10) but LOTS to hit at Mid-O. Mid-O has decent run-off in most areas, but you DON’T want your IS-F in a China beach.

I’ll just stay at Putnam this year then. I’ll check dates. Maybe we can have an F day there as well. I’m a noob and want to play it safe.

And honestly any track is no big deal. It's pretty low key. Hell i was at mid Ohio on the track with a 2001 Corolla and a Subaru outback lol! Low pressure fun!

I can try to talk to the Chicago guys and see if anyone would be down to make the drive up to Ohio and have fun with you guys. I’ll stay tuned to see what the date you guys end up picking

Up to 20% off gift cards until Monday helps lower the cost. I will also ask about group discounts. Doesn't look like much but I'll ask. Their website says with 10 cars, 10% off (except tier 1 price) and free admission to carfest. I'll see what we could get.
