Default Hit/Scratches/dint/ & Run

So, I was in and out a cell phone store (35 minutes top and the that's no car parked left or right of mine). I came out and my heart dropped to the ground....Some A-hole Hit and Ran on my F, scratches on the rear bumper, dint'ed the area below the tail light.... No idea who did it... i asked around, that's no camera in the parking lot.
I dropped off my car off at a body shop yesterday..... $600 (repaint the whole bumper and quarter panel).... It burt a hole in my wallet. There goes my half of my exhaust or intake budget....

D'oh! That'll definitely ruin your day. Insurance won't cover that?

Seeing this makes me glad I opted for the gap coverage that Lexus offers since it'll pay for any insurance deductible up to $1000.

Ouch! Sorry to hear. Better to get it repainted anyway considering just to paint over the particular would still leave behind a noticeable look afterwards. Also, there appears to be some cracking near the park assist sensor. Best of luck with the repairs!

That's what all 3 other body shops recommanded.... :-( or other wise the rear bumper should be cost around 250 - 300

Just put a Band aid sticker on it and keep saving for your exhaust

Due to location of damage on quarter panel and rear bumper they need to paint the entire quarter panel to ensure properly blending of paint job other wise you will see difference.

Some thing hit my driver side passenger door a few week back and put inch long scratch all they way down to metal as well as push in dent in same spot. Due to location of damage they had to not only paint door but quarter panel as well in order to blend it properly, took it to my Dealership said would have to do the same thing they wanted $1000 for job went to shop that specializes in BMW and MB and paid $600 for the job as well. They did great job cant tell any difference, it actual looks better were they did repair.

So to OP don't worry if they are competent body shop you will not be able to tell difference good luck.

Sorry to hear about the damage. Hope you can get it fixed without too much trouble.

I hate "dints" and having a hole "burt" in my wallet too.

I am always amazed that there are people that own nice, expensive cars and do not carry full insurance. In my mind if you can't cover the insurance, you cant really afford the car.

Sorry for the bad luck. This is why I park at the end of the earth when I have to go to a store, gym, etc. It makes you want to put a couple of recording cameras in the car.
