lol its metal cast paint, and when dusted on a textured chrome surface it reflects different shades of blue (if done right)
putting them back together is as easy as taking apart, nice solid beam of sealant, heat, and maintained pressure.
this time i triple checked everything prior to mounting the lense back up.
I considered the STI-R lens (fits our car) but i didn't want to be without my car for 10 days.

Looks great, really like that you painted the inner shroud blue, didn't think about that when I did mine. The Sti-r lense really helped my cut off a lot, super sharp with better intensity and some color too. Glad to see some other members taking the plunge and baking their headlights and doing some modding 👍.

Good work! I think they look awesome. The black headlight really makes the car look cooler than my stockers. The blue ring is a lot more subtle than the purple and really matches the F look. I wish I had the steady hands and courage to open mine up.
Im not really a fan of the blue DRLs LEDs (or whatever you call those little corner lights). IMO its just screaming to be pulled over at night.

1) remove headlights
2) remove lower bracket on headlight
3) remove 3 screws holding lens to headlight body
4) heat in oven at 250*F for 5 minutes (make sure to put the headlights bottom side down on cookie sheets, or flat surface of some type)
5) remove from oven WITH GLOVES
6) pull apart headlight from inner corner, popping the clips as it comes apart
7) reheat as necessary
either am I! they were supposed to be hyper white looks like i'm returning some bulbs.

I got a few sets of those bulbs from V-LEDS, for like $5 a set. The 6000k were even too blue for me, I was trying to make it blend with the headlights more. So I settled on 5000k, still a tad bluer than our headlights, but looks way better than stock.

The headlights aren't that bad to deal with, its the stupid thermo-glue and all of the damn pressure set plugs they use to seal out water....the plugs were the culprit with my failed ballast and motor
