Tire size on stock 09 rims?

hey guys, quick question. ordered some 245/35 front and 275/35 rear pss from tire rack but running into this thread made me do some searching and it seems EVERYONE is running 275+/30 in the rear. is there a reason for that? will the sizes i ordered cause any issues? i still might have time to change my order, please let me know my is-f brethren

The stock tire has an OD of 26", the 275/3019 is 25.6" and the 275/35/19 is 26.6" in diameter. The front 245/35/19 is 25.8" in OD. Lexus has designed the ISF to maintain tire height equality between the front and rear. You may or may not notice a difference with the taller tire, but if it were me, and it was, I would keep the ODs the same or very close to equality as I could.

You can put an inch taller tire on your car, but I wouldn't recommend it. If you want more side wall for bad roads, consider getting 18" wheels.

I was looking at some BFG g-sport Comp 2s but they dont come in 245/35/19 & 275/30/19, only 245/40/19 & 275/35/19. They have the identical sizes for OEM 2008 wheels, but was looking to go bigger.
I know the factory OD is 26.1" F and 26" R.... the OD on the bigger BFGs are 26.7" and 26.6", the bigger Super Sports are 25.8" and 25.6".
I was wondering if I could run that taller side wall ratio on factory suspension or I should just look for a different brand. Thanks

I wouldn't buy it without knowing how it impacts the suspension. Larger diameter tires change just about everything from a suspension perspective, and without knowing what that means, I'd rather stick with much closer to stock diameters.

I'm currently running 245/35/19 front and 285/30/19 rear on stock wheels and stock suspension/ride height. Only addition is rear F-sport swaybar. The car has NO fitment issues and handles great. I'm running Vredestein Ultrac Vorti tires and I am extremely pleased with the traction/ride/handing and sidewall.I like them better than the Michelin PS2's I was running.

Hi guys,
Stock '08 owner and I'm in need of 4 new tires and want to go bigger as well.
Based on my research, for the front, I'm looking to go 245/35/19 Michelin PSS.
For the rear, I currenly have the Continental DW 285/30/19's, but my right rear has already picked up 2 bolts (one at 75 miles
) and the plug on the recent bolt slowly leaks and I'm tired of inflating it every 2 days. Since the Continental tires are no longer being made, I'm planning to go with the 285/30/19 PSS (and will need to buy 2 so they "match"). Has anybody used that PSS size on stock '08 rims? The Continentals fit perfectly and I'd love to keep the width I'm currently running.
Any advice is appreciated.

^^^^I don't mean to burst your bubble, but the PSS is not made in the 285/30/19
When I replaced my crap Continental DW, I went with the Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole position. In the 245/285 combo. See my posts:
