There is a retaining clip on the car front side of the relay. You'll need to stuff a small screwdriver into the clip, then work the relay back and forth to get it out.

Thanks. I figured it out last night, but it was far more difficult than I expected. Though I dont have large hands, I still had trouble pulling the relay out. Seems like it wasn't meant to come out easy.

I had to grab it with stork pliers, then rock and pull with the screwdriver stuffed in the retainer to get it out. Definitely not a simple pull it out, but typical from my previous experience with Toyota relays.

I love it when I find the solution to something I ranted about.

http://www.hellermanntyton.us/produc...?lon=155-46302

This is a link for a 6mm stud mount cable tie. Now I can cut those things off with impunity and just replace them!

I'm going to poke around some more on this site for wire harness clips you can't get from Toyota!!

Old thread revival - I found the Toyota part number for the wire harness clips - 82711-2D380. They don't seem to be available in the US, but are available in Japan for the Pixus Space.

Well, to be totally fair, Lexus also says you should change your oil in 5K increments which we know isn't true. Though being +40K mi beyond the recommended service time probably is a bit excessive, even if he hasn't had any problems.

Lobux, what's the Torque specs for the Spark Plugs...

Seems to be a common question with no concrete answer that I could find here on CL

So with 117k miles in the clock I'm approaching what should have been my 2nd valve lash inspection..

Being that I never did the first at 60k.. I figured I didn't want to take the chance and skip the second due now (soon) approaching 120k miles..

My IS F will be going in for the ELF Recall and either during or soon their after I am having dealership also perform the valve inspection..

Here is a pic of the IS F specific ELF KIT (can not be purchased as shown).
But you can buy each gasket individually..

Here is a pic of (what I think) all the gaskets needed / required for the valve inspection process.

11193-38030 = 8 - Gasket Spark Plug Tube
23224-38010 = 2 - Gasket Fuel Pump Spacer
23915-46011 = 2 - Insulator Fuel Pump
23279-74010 = 4 - Gasket Fuel Pressure (Pulsation Damper)
11229-38030 = 2 - Gasket Cylinder Head Cover No. 3 (Valve cover oil filter)
11159-0P010 = 4 - Gasket Camshaft Bearing Cap Oil Hole No. 1
11159-0S010 = 4 - Gasket Camshaft Bearing Cap Oil Hole No. 2
90301-A0029 = 4 - O Ring (Oil Drain Pipe)
11213-38060 = 1 - Gasket Cylinder Head Cover No. 1 RH
11214-38040 = 1 - Gasket Cylinder Head Cover No. 2 LH
90430-27005 = 2 - Gasket Cylinder Head Screw Plug

Going to cross check a couple of these since it seems some parts have been superseded from original..

But hopefully this is all correct...

Joe...what did they find out when they did your valve inspection....since you were just about twice the recommended miles for inspection.....lobux is the only one Ive seen that has even done this....or is this anything most of us even needs to be concerned with
