Looks like the needles for the tach and odometer went out on me last week. I have about 55k on the odometer. Looks like I'll be sending the cluster off to get fixed.

If you check the southern California section of forum there's a member that fixes the tachometer led. Whitebeast if I recall his cl name

Hey Miqueaseli, thanks for the info! You wouldn't happen to have a link to that thread would you? I just went through the first 6 pages of the SoCal section and didn't find anything. I also tried to search Whitebeast threads but he has 1700+ posts. I'll keep searching but if you have the link bookmarked or something, that would be awesome.
Has anyone in this thread attempted to R&R SMD LED's? I've done it on other clusters. Just curious.
A long time ago on a Scion tC I owned. I don't have the right tools for this kind of work anymore. With a proper soldering station, it's a breeze. With homeowner quality stuff, it's a nightmare.

Exactly. I have a hot air soldering/desoldering unit, etc. I've also repaired a Harmony remote and other SMD stuff.
Finally got a call from the dealer today. Lexus Canada will warranty the cluster, just need to drop it off. I usually like getting parts repaired on the car for free but this one I don't really care about. I would rather it were a mechanical part, oh well.

Still an over $1k job (via dealer) for part & labor...
Revived! An LED on my tachometer went out... let a local dealer take a look and they are willing to replace... so long as a drop the car off a few days. I thought they programmed the mileage in at the dealer but they are suggesting it happens before it is sent. Should I expect unnecessary car punishment here? The illumination loss is minor but my extended warranty dies off in October.
