Default New Owner -- Damage on way home

Hi everyone

I just got my ISF this week... on my way home from the dealer I had some road debris kicked up by a truck... I was able to move the car so instead of hitting the hood/windshield/roof it caught the edge of the side mirror and cracked the cover.

Since I'm new to the Lexus world, looking for suggestions on places to look for inexpensive replacement parts. I'm seeing $500 for it right now.
87910-53311-B0 is the part.

Thanks in advance.

u might want to upgrade if its only the cover that is damage. contact nigel he sells the cover with LED turn signals, only thing is u will have to wire or find someone to wire them in and install. i think they were going for like 250 for paint included. 150 without paint. the covers have led turn signals. check the vendor section.

here is a link to his website.

I would have your insurance pay for it. Same thing happened to me 2 weeks after getting my ISF. Truck in front of me kicked up debris that had fallen off another truck and struck the front of my car cracking the front fascia. It will fall under your comprehensive deductible as long as you tell them the object was in motion when it struck your car.

I would not submit it for that amount as that is a permanent hit on your insurance history. I had a company years ago drop me for three comp claims in about 1.5 years. All bad luck as the car was broken into as well as some knucklehead kids throwing rocks.

I guess it all depends on your insurance company and history. Being under my comp deductible I paid $100 and my rates did not raise one cent.

thanks for the info. Not seeing my color on the Sewell site (Mercury Metallic) it just shows Premium silver. Is that the same color code? For Pembrook there's no option on search for an 08 ISF. Is the mirror the same as the 350?

Finally, seems like the LED option makes a lot of sense for the money. Anyone install them and wire them? I haven't done a DIY search yet.

I agree but my point was that you have no clue as to what the future holds and to submit for such a small amount seems silly as they all add up and you need to pick and chose your claims wisely. I had no other claims by the way.

I feel your pain. I had my LS460 [ my oldest son ] on the highway and some jerkoff in front of me decided he was going to run over a tire on the road instead of avoiding it. The tire then went airborn and slammed into my grille, destroyed the front bumper and caused damage to the undercarriage. $3,210.32 of damage. Thank god for Geico.

I ordered the JDM LED ones from Nigel, but it sounds like he is having a tough time getting the parts in. He's going to cancel/refund me this week if he can't get them.

Any other sources for these?
