Just to update the op. I found out the other day as i was getting another amp installed what my cd/dvd volume issue was. The dealer never plugged my fiber optic input back to the ml amp. So check and see if it may have come loose in yours.

Common normal issue. I narrowed down the problem in the rear door bass speakers. If your audio settings are faded more to the rear and bass up high the amp will go into fail safe mode to prevent speaker damage. Spoke to Lexus electrical engineer. Happens to all isf and isx50 with ml audio. There is no problems with the amps or speakers. It's a frequency in a song that cuts music off
Just this afternoon I was listening to a solemn type song on a college radio station when the sound just cut out. I played with all the menu settings and Voice Assist for 20 mins to no avail: both volume controls and the voice assistant button don't work
