Default ISF Slower in hot weather - heat soak?

Warm weather in Southern CA today, car temp gauge read 91F compared to 70F earlier this week.

I have noticed that the ISF's power is noticeably diminished when the weather turns warm/hot. Compared to "winter" over here, where temps hit a high of 40-55F. Today, I attempted a few full throttle acceleration runs after driving for 30min and I know that it's just not as "powerful" and felt sluggish. Sure, it's still quick, but just not as quick as during winter.

Parked it in a covered garage with a fan blowing the air out, drove the ISF back out the power was back for about 20min.

Does removing the engine cover help with what I presume is heat soak? Anyone else notice less performance when warm weather comes?

2008 ISF, stock except for JoeZ intake tube.

i would say that this is normal for almost every car out there. higher heat means less air density and therefore less power.

but taking the cover off? i dunno?

I don't know if it's slower, but I as a driver feel more fatigued in hotter temps like today, which can attribute to that feeling of the car being slower- maybe. Surely after a nice drive for the day, it can get pretty hot under the hood. I've been tempted to remove the engine cover, but after seeing what it looks like without it, I prefer the look of it on where everything is concealed properly.

yes removing the engine cover will help lower the engine temp

someone should invent a device/system that would supply cold air for the engine to gobble up all the time.... Like having a winter day at your fingertips.

Yeah, that'd be nice.

I wonder how much of a difference a vented hood would make on our F's.

Strange. I didn't notice a significant drop in power when I ran my track weekend at CMP in 102F heat. Oil temps went to one bar short of the top, but power didn't seem to suffer any more than I would expect from running in genuinely hot weather.
