I actually switched to Royal Purple 5W30 at my most recent oil change just to try something different. Before the switch, I used Mobil 1 5W30

I've used both in my former IS350, Mustang, Eclipse Spyder turbo, SRT-4, which came from factory with Mobil 1. From my past experience Royal Purple held up much better than Mobil 1, especially in my former turbo cars. In my old SRT-4 it was my DD I did a lot of stop and go traffic and city driving after 3k miles you would feel a little lose of power, it was black as coal even thow you can't judge oil solely by it's color it smelled a little burnt and when you ran the oil thur your fingers it felt thinner. The high heat of Turbo motors wreak havoc on motor oil but with Royal Purple at three 3K I didn't have the same symptoms as Mobil 1 and could go to 5K before I needing to change the oil. I would typical change my oil between 3k and 4k miles I hope this helps.

Did you ever have the oil analyzed or is this just your subjective impression?
Without a UOA, it's just an opinion based on how you feel.
I agree turboed engines are hard on oil, but if you do UOA, you'd find out you can run 10k on oil changes with no loss of the fundamental properties the engine needs. My Supra has been on 10k changes with Red Line 10w-30 for over 120k miles and 14 years. It's still tight and still makes great power.
mobil 1 5W30. going to mobil 1 0W30 at the next oil change. for the other cars that i put dino oil in i rock pennzoil. would love to go pennzoil platinum or ultra in the F if they made it in 0W30.
