Default Clearing out my locker - traded IS-f

It's been a great two years. I appreciate all the helpful tips. My favorite was the one that enabled DVD Video playback while moving.

The bug bit me, as it seems all too often. I traded for a new 2010 Corvette ZR1, Crystal Red Tintcoat, 6-spd manual, 638hp supercharged, 3ZR option package, chrome wheels. Of course the car is a beast, but truly and I say this with all sincerity, I've never before felt a tinge of regret at trading any car but my '08 IS-f was the exception. Just yesterday, I was at the dealer, and saw my IS-f prominently displayed for sale, and it made me sad, so much so I even gave some thoughts about buying it back.

The IS-f really has no peer in IMO, and for the way it combines a dual personality of quiet luxury refinement, or raucous sport performer.

The dealer was very eager to have this car in trade. I overheard the salesman commenting to the manager, both of whom are Corvette enthusiasts, how quickly the IS-f 8-speed tranny snaps off shifts from the paddles.

For me, the IS-f was intensely personal, and my time with it too short.

I take this opportunity to give one final rib-shot to those who think the IS-f is too harsh, Get one of the other Lexus models! The IS-f is firm, not harsh! The ZR1 on it's softest shock setting is livable but still rides harder.

Best to you all...Tom

Tom, that trade was truly justifiable. I had an 07 and 08 Corvette, the later being supercharged, and I surely miss that neck snapping acceleration and torque. I may go the same route as you did in the near future. Now pulley that beast down, , long tube headers, get a CAI, port the intake and, get it dyno tuned Lingenfelter has two pacakages available for them now, and I believe that so does Katech.

Ha, I'm doing the same thing this early summer when my 08 IS-F lease is up. Going with a 2011 ZR1 3Z package. I love this IS-F but I've always been a Corvette guy. I will probably sell the car rather than turn it back in since it has such low miles on it. Somebody will get a steal for a 16,000 mile USB 08 IS-F.
