Default Safest Way To Remove Tail Light Tint WITHOUT Damaging the plastic?

I recently bought a 2010 ISF and one of the previous owners put on spray on tail light tint. I don't dislike it but I prefer the stock look. I went to an auto detailer and they said that since it's not the film tint they can't/won't remove it. Various solutions I've googled seem to indicate there is a risk of tail light damage, especially using brake cleaner. I've also seen some suggest using Krud Kutter graffiti remover, but that seems to also have risks. Damaging my tail lights, or taking it to a point where I would have to regularly polish my taillights to have them stay clear is not an option - I'd rather just keep it the way it is if that would be the case. Anyone have any suggestions/advice?

Personally can't comment on removing the spray tint, however stock ISF taillights are not expensive at all, you also have VLAND taillights which are really reasonably priced. It might be worth just replacing than the hassle of removing the tint IMO and selling the tinted ones off for someone who likes the style

If you end up looking for another set of OEM ISF lights, I will be selling my set sometime this week. I decided to order OEM 2011+ ISx50 taillights

You can remove spray on tint with a good quality headlight restoration kit. Or take it to a reputable detailer.

Remove the taillights and use a can of goof off. Paint will literally come right off of it. Have some paper towels handy to remove excess paint in corners and such. Clean them with warm soap and water before reinstalling

it's easier than that. a rag and paint thinner and it'll come right off without damaging the tail lights. I've done it before. leave them in place and tape off the paint around them. simple. Just wash with soap and water after it's removed.

In your position I'd upgrade to Vland/SpecD, or just get oem used. Both under $250 easy. Then just sell your painted ones for $200ish.
