Did you reset the ECU? Also you should drive 500-1000 mi for the ECU to adapt.

Appointment?! Sigh... Headers and full exhaust without cats. DONE!

Anywho, good luck! I had issues with K&N in my previous car as it caused MAF issues with oil coating.

Possibly from over-oiling. I've had K&N intakes on other cars, never had that problem.

^^^^^+1. For awhile I had a K&N panel filter on my stock then JoeZ intake before I went with the Takeda. When I oiled the filter I let it dry overnight before I put in back on the car. I never had issues with oil on the MAF.

I'm confused after reading through this thread and many before it.. I was under the impression that the stock intake box was the best and that the K &N was reflecting a loss in power. Which I felt right away especially when driving for an hour or so.
Either way I won't return it I can do some more research. The mechanic told me that it was retarding the timing on the vehicle or messing with the ECU. Main goal is to get some more power out of the F. I'm in Toronto and I've found it pretty difficult to find people who know the vehicle

Thanks

Joe

Mine sounds nice but I as well have seen the dyno charts and it seems to do terribly
I don't know about you but in Canada it's about 75 k for the F and I'm not about to lose power on that ***** lol.
Has anyone done any mods that have proven power gains?

This forum is pretty sweet saved me.

Thanks

No. No one has done any mods, nor gained any power.

You should be the first. Maybe try doing some headers, or a "cat-back" exhaust. I hear they make power on other cars. Maybe the same would hold true on the ISF, but I am not sure.

just seems if it was truly that simple to pull 40 lb/ft on the lower range that Lexus would have done it themselves. odd. Thanks to the OP for posting this and doing all the dyno work. Very cool

So what is the final verdict?

The k & N is a no go as far as the intake goes? The things I read online about power loss are true? The stock box is the way to go? Much appreciated guys

Thanks

Id still say stock is the best but it seems from this that maybe modding the oem system is the best overall. Just seems like they left a lot on the table on the low end if these numbers are correct

Sweet thanks brother

I put the stock one back on feels much better. Sound is gone but at least it's not screaming and going nowhere

I will keep looking for safe mods. For now the intakes don't look to impressive

What about taking my K&N and cutting it down to fit the stock air box? It would be similar to the Joe-Z. Just a thought...
