Default Class In Session: SSR Professor SP1 Meets MM IS F

Wheels: 20" SSR Professor SP1's
Color: Custom
Sizes: 20 x 9 Front & 20 X 10.5 Rear
Offsets: +37 Front & +43 Rear
Tires: 245/30 Front & 285/25 Rear Toyo Proxes TIR
Suspension: KW Variant 3

Rear fenders are shaved, no rubbing at all.

Just a couple pics for now.

The good:After a 3 month wait I picked up my wheels this week had them mounted on Friday and spent most of Saturday adjusting the height on the coilovers and putting on the black pearl emblems.

The bad: Went to dinner last night with my wife and friends and got rear ended by someone not paying attention pulling out of a parking lot .

Special thanks to Tanabe USA, Toyo Tires, KW NA, Magic Film (3M Crystalline tint and clear bra), James @ PitCrew Motorsports (wheel mounting and balancing as well as fender shaving), Primecut (for his help confirming his offsets) and the rest of the members of CL for tips, ideas etc.

There is still more to come, I have some other parts on the way and a proper photo shoot planned

Love the wheels...but do they stick out past the fender in the rear?

No, they are flush with the rear fenders.

Love the wheels, but hate the stretch tire look.

Those are some FAT spokes! But I like the look - never seen those wheels on an IS of any kind.

Thanks Mike. At a minimum the car needs a rear bumper cover, but I'll know more once I take the car to the body shop this week. There was no damage to the sheet metal or tail lights.

I love the KW's and would recommend them in minute to anyone. The ride quality on the 20's isn't far off from the stock 19's and worlds better than the stock suspension.

Thanks, but a 285 tire is not stretched on a 10.5" rim and per the Toyo and Yokohama tire guide it is only recommended for a 10.5 rim.

http://toyotires.com/tire/pattern/proxes-t1r

A 275 section width would be a stretched tire on a 10.5" rim

Thanks again, there is one other guy on the 2IS forum that had these on his car. The SP1 is one of my favorite wheels ever and these are the second set I've owned. I bought a set 7 years ago for another car.

All the other 285s are on 10.0" rims. I don't like the look regardless of what Toyo specs, the same as a 255/40/17 on a Supra's stock rim looks stretched even though it's not.

Duly noted. I'm aware of your opinion on what you think it looks like and have seen you post similar comments in other threads, which doesn't bother me.

The tire isn't stretched, the rim is still covered by the tire. I think the 285/25 with the shorter sidewall along with the angle of the picture is giving you the illusion that it's stretched. I would have loved to put a 295 on there but that wasn't going to happen on stock fenders even with them shaved.

Honestly I'd like 295s on all four corners, it's a heavy car and needs all it can get for what I do with it.

I hear ya. These work for what I do with the car....drive to meetings, supermarket etc.

I have another car shod with Toyo RA1's and Sparco seats that I use for track work.
