The squealing has begun.

My SA said I got 3mm on the fronts (browsing for new pads and rotors ATM...), and 4mm on the rears and told me the rears still have 4-5k more miles left before they need to be replaced. Does that sound correct?

FYI on Rotors. My local parts guy here in Canada was able to order me front and rear drilled rotors for $100 cdn a piece. That's about $75usd now with the exchange. Happy me!

Your rears will most likely be good for a very long time. Make sure your fronts are low and really need replacing and its not the typical low speed brake squeal you are getting. Many of us have low speed brake squeal, its normal.

Here are front OEM rotors for great price just not in Toyota boxes:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Set-of-2-Genu...6716c4&vxp=mtr

Here are front pads made by textar, Same who make for Toyota
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Textar-Brand-...item1c4e23fba8

Last few times I bought front rotors I payed just under $750 a set. I ordered a lot this time because I'm picking the parts up at the border so I can save a couple hundred on shipping and because the price is so good. I bought 6 rotors and 1 set of textar pads and I have 2 sets of Carbotechs on the way. I'll be well prepared for this years track season.

Thanks for the response.

Yeah, my SA said there's only 3mm left on the front pads. I remember it squealed when I first got the car and that didn't last too long. It only started squealing again about two weeks ago, and I have 40k miles on the car. Parts Geek has the OEM Brembo rotors for a pretty good price ($140 each).

I'm just contemplating what brake pads to get...

That link I gave you is for 2 rotors, so its $120 each, better than parts geek and shipping is free if you are in the US

I have a CPO that I bought, and the brakes are squealing at sub 5-mph speed braking. Like in stop and go traffic. It is bugging the crap out of me, and there should only be 8k miles on the brakes.

I hope they were replaced by OEM. Is this normal?

You're right - I'll def get them from eBay then

Any recommendations for pads? I've skimmed over the entire thread, but the more I read, the more I am overwhelmed with information. I don't track the car so I don't need some fancy, high-end race-oriented brake pads. All I need is something on par with OEM pads, or slightly better (if price is alright). Preferably low-dust

If you go back up to my previous post, I posted a link to textar pads. Textar makes the pads for Toyota. These will be the same as OEM but without the Toyota box. They are $88. Killer price compared to dealer prices.

If you only saw the rotors that were on my car last summer after a few track days. The ones on your car are probably like brand new.

I settled for a set of brembo rotors and textar pads for $490 in eBay. Thanks for all your help!

I have Bosch pads on the fronts and Brembo pads on the back. I notice how the rears have lots of brake dust compared to very little on the fronts everytime i wash my car. Cant go wrong with the Bosch, great price and work great. 2008 ISF.
