Default Got a little carried away at the track...

So a few nights ago I went to the track and was running pretty badly. I decided to take it out on my tires (the drag radials). On my way out of the track parking lot I could hear lots of 'debris' noises from the rear end but chalked it up to the dirt all over the lot due to the upcoming mudding event the next day.

Anyway, the next day I go out to put my stock wheels back on and found the following in the wheel wells (click for hires):
You can actually see the tread pattern of the DR's clearly in the wheel wells.

Needless to say I spent a good 30 minutes trying to clean out the wheel wells somewhat. There is still rubber CAKED on the underside of the car (wishing i had mud flaps ) - including the exhausts, etc (makes for a nice smell)....

LOL, that's not bad - I have CHUNKS of rubber lining my wheel well. In some areas, the rubber is about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick!! Probably pounds of rubber and VHT.

lol thats pretty intense. So is the tires getting eaten up in youre wheel well the only thing that is damaged? could the wheel-well get trimmed down too?

Nice!! I had those same thread pattern lines....

It's also do to the water box. When you burn out in the box, the water whips up in perfect lines that follow the thread pattern..

The tire isnt actually making contact with the wheel well (if that's what you're asking) it just looks that way due to the item JoeZ mentions below

Mine still look pretty good; keep in mind these are MT DR's so they are up to the task. I wouldn't even consider doing that to my PS2's, except when they are already at end of life.
