IS-F Bumper Retainer Brackets
Does anyone know what the purpose is of the small plastic retainer bracket pictured in photo below?
it seems to me that it might be to strengthen the joint between the bumper and the exhaust tip. it only seems to link the bumper to the exhaust tip. I am wondering if i could do without this or use another method?
any suggestions would be appreciated

That bracket was actually added to reinforce the shield that helps the exhaust flow into the tips.
