It would sure be nice to have in the climates were we get a decent amount of snow and ice in the winter. All I see drving around in MN is the IS250 AWD. On a very rare occasion I will see an IS350.

precisely why I moved from MN to AZ last year, and promptly bought an IS-F.

in so cal you probaly see 3/10 being 350's and maybe 1/25 being f's i rarely see awd 250's but it doesnt snow and it rarely rains.

but an awd isF would be amazing.

awd on is-f doesn't automatically translate to amazing, still need careful design to get the best performance, considering that it also adds weight. audi's awd system is after yrs of r&d as well

but overall in general, i think when done right, rwd can get better performance.

Want to have some idea what an IS-F would be like with AWD... go drive an Audi RS4.

It would be heavier, a little clumsier steering to name a few things. Not amazing.

Lexus engineers prefer the purity of RWD for the IS-F and the upcoming LF-A. This is out their mouths.

The IS-F would be a near 4000lbs car, no thanks.....

Also the IS 250 AWD is fine but the IS-F would require a "trick" AWD system...

Simple answer. Nope. Weight from an AWD system would slow down the IS F.

they should add a twin turbo baby!!! then who cares what it weighs...if the GT-R weighs more than the IS-F and performs better...what the heck!

There is nothing unamazing about an RS4.

I've got a buddy that has one and they are just as great as an M3, C63 and the F. Each of these four super sedans are amazing vehicles that have their own strengths and weaknesses. The AWD of the RS4 is definitely one of it's strengths.

+1

The RS4's main strength is quattro AWD system and I second it being just as great as the M3,C63,ISF. The all have their place.......

Driving a AWD car gives you such a planted feeling and super sense of control. An ISF-AWD would be a + but in its current setup would be a slower heavier monster and take away from one of its strengths(a rear wheel drive bias monster)

ive never thought of audi as being a true competitor in the super sedan competition. sure, theres the m3 and c63 amg to compete with the f, but when people think of this sorta competition, audi isnt one of the first things that come to mind. ive actually test driven the rs4, and UCrazyKid- you are very correct! it doesnt give that feel that the F gave, and it was much too cumbersome in my opinion. some may say otherwise, especially those who have the rs4, but i dont see it as competition to the F.

the rs4 you have been in competes with the previous generation m3 and c32/55. that's when isf wasn't even in the picture. and in that case i think the rs4 competes extremely well with those cars.

the isf now competes with the new m3 and c63, but we have yet to see the new rs4 that competes with these new cars. by then it will be a true apple to apple comparison

The RS4 was also the first Audi with a 60/40 RWD bias to give it a sportier feel... If you look at Toyota history their sportiest cars were ALL RWD....the one that juts out is the Celica All-Trac....
