Default anyone know the socket size for the o2 sensors?

ever regret something almost immediately? trying to install the iss exhaust. quickly it's become a real pita. i have a 7/8"-22m o2 sensor socket and it just keeps slipping off and starting to round the edges.

anyone know what size it requires?

It's a universal, 22mm / 7/8". Are you using the deep socket or shorty version? I tend to have better results with the shorty since it reduces the chances of improper torque angles.

If it's seized in there, soak with PB Blaster overnight, try again with vice grips or small pipe wrench.
Still not coming out, use a torch to heat it up.

Good luck.

the socket is longer. only one the parts store had. may need to check napa for a shorty.

gonna let it soak overnight. if that doesn't do it i'll find some dynamite.

The right 22mm socket for the right results is a must....!!

Here are a couple of more options, of the same style tool

was hoping to avoid that tool as it has to be ordered further delaying the work.

^Don't cut corners here - if you damage or strip your O2 sensors, it's a VERY costly mistake.

The OEM brand crowfoot o2 sensor socket can be found at an autozone. Craftsman also sells a oxygen sensor socket which can easily be found in the automotive tools section, so there is no need to order it when you can buy them locally.

Personally I'd just order the snap on socket and wait.

^^ I noticed recently that some of the off brand ones don't clear the O2 sensor heat sync / shield properly.

I also read a few of the Amazon comments, doesn't look too promising so far..
