Default VSC, and Traction Control

How often do you guys drive your car with VSC, and Traction Control turned completely off in sport mode? I have turned it off several times during the last few weeks, and it is a real hoot.

That is when I think you can really feel the 416HP in this car. I do not think it would be advisable in anything but dry conditions and straight line driving until you get used to it. But you can really light up the tires with it off, and you know the old saying "burn em (tires) if you have em".

I've done it before... Its nice to light up those tires sometimes =)

VSC is deff an important feature on high HP cars...

If it didn't exist mann... I'm sure I wouldn't have an F..

Has anyone noticed you can't turn it off if you are going say 55mph or above. Mine also will turn itself back on after a period of time.Have not got the owners manual to see if this is normal or not.

Yeah how do you put off all the times,mine it reset all the times once put off and then it will come back to on.Any advice anyone??

1) Press once & relase turns off the TRAC control system till 20 mph or so..

2) Press & Hold for 3 seconds and then release, turns Off the TRAC control system and VSC... (no time or speed limit) ..

#2 is very dangerous and you should really read the owners manual.


Also, neither of these can be done will the car is moving..
You have to be STOPPED.

Did I mention read the owners manual for Safety reasons .. ?? !!

In my case the question would have to be, how often do I drive with TRAC and VCS ON in AUTO and NORMAL mode? Well... probably 5 times since June 24th 2008 when I purchased the car. Coming from the EVO world it's kind of boring to drive the IS-F in full auto mode, but the story changes completely when you switch all the nannies OFF and engage SPORT and MANUAL mode.

So true, it seems like a different car all together, a lot more spirited.

I often wonder just how much HP VSC, and TC pulls from the car. I know it is primarily just pulling timing when the tires are spinning, but it seems to have a pretty big effect on acceleration.

So I have a question... I usually leave VSC/TCS on. During spirited driving, sometimes the traction comes loose and you get a cut in power accompanied by the flashing traction icon by the gauges. Isn't that the only time when the power would be different between VSC/TCS on and off?

So assume that I'm in 4th and I WOT, and obviously at that range it won't break traction. Under this scenario, wouldn't the power delivered with VSC/TCS on and off the same, since no intervention was necessary by the system?

BTW the other day I hit it in 1st going UPHILL and it still chirped like crazy..not even WOT. Love that feeling. ha ha

I drive almost exclusively in manual mode. The other day for the second time, I was in drive and "upshifted" into neutral with the console shifter thinking I was in manual!

I felt like a dope. Anyone else ever do this?

Now throw in a throttle controller in the SP3 setting and its Pure Bananas!!!!

Eibach springs installed today, and here I thought I was just about done. Now you have me thinking about the Blitz. I think we are bad influences on each other.

It is kind of like the holidays at lake havasu, first one chick removes her top then the next thing you 10 others follow, and it snowballs from there. But you have to understand it gets real hot out there. Sorry got a little off topic.
