I have an equivalent of E20 in car now. Just finished the dyno session and things look real good!

I'm pretty happy with the tune and current power level of the car. I'm making more power now with cats than I had in the past being catless!

Thanks for sharing - looks like the tune/intake added about 15 whp/20 wtq with increases throughout the rev band. Very impressive - Enjoy!

Yeah i'm pretty happy with the results. I'm sure I could have had another 10 or so hp without the cats in place, but to me it's worth having them in place.

I am thinking of gutting stock manifolds, adding a tune and high flow cats..this is great motivation!

James... thanks for post the results. We haven't done too much testing with cats, especially in conjunction with the tuned intake. I think the bottom line is that in order to take full advantage of the tuned intake, you really need to go catless. As we note on our website, the tuned intake is only effective once you completely open up the exhaust side with headers and catless dual exhaust. Even cars with gutted stock cats and exhaust do not benefit from the tuned intake, and the stock intake setup is not restrictive until you get past the 410whp level.

^are you saying it is not worth getting the tuned intake unless you have headers, intake, exhaust, catless, and tune? I have cats on my car along with fbo so i dont know what power level that will put me at. If i wont benefit much from the intake then ill skip that part.

I think what he said is that unless you are at 410whp or more the intake isn't worth it. So unless you have headers and true dual exhaust you probably won't be at the 410whp mark with a tune and as such an intake wouldn't be beneficial. Do you have headers or just de-catted OEM manifold? From what I gather even a de-catted manifold is still too restrictive to reach the 410whp mark.

Correct,

Unless your exhaust side is totally open with headers and true dual exhaust that the tuned intake will not be beneficial. It might be possible to design a cat that would not impact power, but it would have to be really big and we don't have much space for it. If you look a the cats on NA lambos and ferraris, they are quite big.

you'd have to remove the cats to see the full benefits of the tune intake.

The GESI cats are not supposed to lose any HP according to their claims?? So maybe you would still be putting down the same numbers without them?

James,

When are you going to dyno without the GESI's to see what HP you lose if any?

Yeah the claims are zero loss, but reality is cats will lose power some more so than others. I am very curious just how much power I'm possibly missing out on, but since I never plan to run the car without cats I don't see the point in spending money doing so. Maybe a future project?
