Talking Picking up my F tomorrow!

Woohooo! I'm so excited!

My '08 Smoky Granite Mica with White leather shall be mine by this time tomorrow... When I last checked it at the dealer it only had 17km on the odometer!

The dealer is naturally trying to get me to buy things like DuPont paint protection, leather protection, extended warranties, etc... I don't think I'll be getting the extended warranty, but what do you folks think of the paint and leather protection? $590 for that... extra $200 for carpet/floormat protection but I don't think I'll get that... Any thoughts?

I wouldn't get the clear bra front end protector unless the car was absolutely pristine without a hint of an issue to the finish. Paint and leather protectors are snake oil IMHO. Enjoy the ride of your life!

As an afterthought, the extended Lexus warranty is the only thing I did purchase and consider it worry free protection for life.

I got my dealer to throw in both of those for free. And some swag...hat, mug, shirt, umbrella. (These are not big deals, but adds to the feel good factor.)

Well the car is new, as I said only 17km so I'm assuming the finish is perfect at the moment. Any reason why it wouldn't be?

Paint and leather protectors are snake oil IMHO.
Sorry I don't get the reference. Are you saying it's worthless?

Enjoy the ride of your life!
Thanks! I shall!

Regarding the paint needing to be pristine before going for the clear bra, if there are already stone chips or scratches, etc., to the front of the hood, grille, mirrors, etc., the clear bra installation will be marred and the paint defects will be accentuated by the plastic overlay. Yes, I consider the leather and paint protectants worthless and are, again IMHO, very high profit margin add-ons for the dealers that don't really do much if anything at all. Glad you are enjoying your new ride!
