To Paint or Not to Paint????
I've been contemplating painting my roof a gloss black. I noticed most if not all of the SEMA ISf's had black roofs and I thought it was pretty sweet and really made the cars look sharp. My other option was to just use a black vinyl in case down the road sometime I wanted to remove it. What is your guy's takes on painting the roof vs. vinyl and also if you just think it is a bad idea? Anyone have any past experience or expertise in this area. Any and all opinions will be appreciated.
My concerns:
1) Possible loss in retail value down the road if I paint it.
2) Vinyl: Can you vinyl the sharkfin?

You can get a gloss black finish with the correct vinyl. There are different kinds.

I'd personally go with vinyl so that it can be taken off if you decide to sell the F later on down the road or if you don't like it I saw one of the black roof F's in Vegas during SEMA and really liked the way it looked

Vinyl for sure. That way you can go back to stock if you ever want to sell or whatever. Javy had it done and looks pretty shiny to me.

I've seen vinyl roofs and have been tricked a couple times. You would be surprised how nice it looks and like others are saying...Much easier to put back to original this way.
Oh yeah.. +1 on the carbon fiber roof.

The black vinyl would look killer on your car. My black painted grille surround already had rock chips after a month, so we actually got some shiny black vinyl and covered the grille in it (and then added the ventureshield over that for extra protection). You can not tell at all that it is not really painted and I'm sure the roof would be the same way.

No guts, no glory... I'd paint.
Then you could do something unique, for example black with blue metallic on an Ultrasonic IS-F.
Did the black/blue metallic thing on the roof of my 2GS and it looks insane!
