What's involved in the 1k mile checkup?
And..is it necessary to really bring it in at 1k miles?

Unless you want to have few Personalize features change at no charge, I wouldn't bother. OTOH, some owners elect to have oil change after 1k mile.

The 1k is to have them program personalized features like avgjOF said. They also check the car and make sure its running perfect and there's no problems. I didn't bring mine in at 1k, I just brought it in at 2k for an oil change

I would bring it in anyways. It doesn't hurt and it's free.
