Can I make the Lexus dealership sell me IS-F for 1700? (Guy just said he meant 17k)
The guy I spoke to just told me it was supposed to be 17000, not 1700. They are giving me 44k for a 58k sticker S5. Can I make them honor the email offer?
Now I dont know if he's lying or not. Because 1700 was way to good, but 17000 is just ridiculous and it seems like he's just trying to not honor the deal. He even said in the email that I would lose 3k but if they give me 44k then I'm losing 14000. I think this stealerman is to not honor the deal. Who the hell would pay 17k in my situation.

If you have it in writting and they wont honor it I would really question doing any business with them from there forward. I am not a lawyer but could that fall under something like breach of contract?

I'm just wondering if he really meant 1700 or 17000. Because 17000 is just way to ridiculous and 1700 although also too good to be true seems more logical if they can fetch a high price at the auction. I mean why would they even ask me if I want to pay 17000 unless they think I'm retarded. It may be the email I wrote them asking if they made a mistake by saying 1700. If thats the case, then I hope I can make them honor it.

Because my car is and 2008 Audi S5 with 3500 miles. So it would be more plausible to think they could fetch a higher price for my car at a auction then just tell me that they would only give me 44k. Plus LIKE I SAID, he said in the email I would only lose 3000, but giving me 44k for my car is a 14K LOSS.

I have to say, I thought $1700 was an incredible deal. Mindboggling, to be more precise!
So... I would believe that it might have been an honest mistake. It's not surprising that they are only offering you $44k for your S5. According to automotive.com (FWIW) depreciation on an Audi S6 is $16,043 in the first year... and the dealer wants to make money...
Just my opinion.

Well, I dont think thats it because first, there is a huge demand for S5 right now and if you check autotrader or ebay you will know why. Also, I know 44k for my car is bull****, because just over the phone the guy sounded like he'll do 51k right away when I asked him why it was so low.

yah if it was 1700 i say jump on it but u just got the s5 and 17k more is just a big loss. Its 17k that you can do something else with :P you can get them to honor the offer if you go talk to the Sales GM they will honor anything they write down in the email. Just write a nasty letter and saying how can you do internet businesses like this and blahhh blah blah blah...I got 3k off my is250 because they made the same mistake they listed the wrong vin which had navi :P they had to honor it

Its an obvious mistake in my opinion, and I really doubt that would take that much of a lose on the car, they would be in the hole on the IS-F if I am reading this correctly. If you think about it, they would actually be paying money out of their pocket to put you in an IS-F..
Your car may be (like) new, but it is still technically a used car with 3,500 miles on it. Its not new anymore, and they would have to sell it as so. They are in the business to make money.
I would just keep your S5 honestly. You made a big decision purchasing that car and it seems like kind of an impulse to get out of it already for an IS-F.
I wouldnt expect $1,700. Just my opinion.
