I agree with the moving up argument. I just turned 27, my dad got me a used 1992 lexus ES300 in 1999 for $2k. In 2003, I bought me a brand new V6 Accord fully loaded, when I turned 25, I got me the IS350 in 06. Not sure what's next, but I always appreciated when my parents got me my first car. I dunno if I'm getting the IS-F in the future, but I like my progression, if I got a IS-F at 19, I should be rocking a AMG or Ferrari by now.

I am an investment analyst for Phillip Morris and attending grad school to be an investment banker. Im not trying to say you don't know your stuff but any time is a good time to invest as long as you do your research. Just because Stock prices are low dose not mean market is bad, you just have to know what to buy and most importantly when to buy and when to sell or even when to jump ship and cut your losses. Buying stock when you say market is "bad" for 6$ and selling for 12$ still doubles your money just as well as buying stock when the market is "good" got 100$ and selling it for 200$ a share. Also just to be relevant to the thread, I am 21 and just brought home a IS-F today, thats y I am reading this thread at 3:25 am, im pretty excited to have the car. Just for the record no my parents are not involved in getting me the car, but they have paid my way through college which has enable me to have everything I have to this day. As for paying for the "F" Im doing a 4year lease for 1100$ a month then Im going to have the option to just pay the rest of the car off or get a new car. Hopefully a new "F" is out by then and I will be blessed enough to be in a position to purchase it.

man, there are alot of young people with an IS-F. I am 21 and feel lucky to have an IS250.

Is everyone here paying their car off with cash and are rediculously wealthy or are you guys just leasing these bad boys?

Leasing is no longer a question of whether one can pay cash or not. One need not be ridiculously wealthy to pay cash (it's only a $60k car) and leasing does not mean you can't afford to pay cash either.
Nowadays, leasing luxury makes more sense, due to the depreciation of these cars and the ease of which to get out of them and not get hammered on trade-in or waiting months for the right buyer to come along. I know several people who could pay cash for several Bugatti Veyrons, yet lease their Lexus, Mercedes, etc. simply because it makes more sense from a financial standpoint.

Was reading through this thread... its interesting to understand how people got their is-f. however, it got annoyed after people start bagging on others about how they got it. anywho, just tell the truth and if your lying, then get some morals. and we all dont have to hate on others.

im 20, im a legit drug dealer. parents helped me bought an 02 is300 but it got totaled and i used the insurance money to pay for part of my is-f. and of course i admit, my parents are helping me put down half of the car while i attemp to pay off the rest. that is all. :]

I really hate when people say its a bad time too invest in the stock market right now... if anything... you should be researching companies and putting all your spare pennies into them... I just found a good potential company called Barotex Technology Corporation designing the next generation of carbon fiber and kevlar... They just received a patent.. and hopefully within the next couple years start mass producing the fibers

I drove a POS Bronco II from age 16 to 26, then got into a used LS400, and bought an IS350 at 29. I can't say that I could appreciate what I have now if I didn't have that garbage *** Bronco II for all those years.
