IS-F or GT-R
I currently have deposits and am in the #1 position for the IS-F and the GT-R. It appears the IS-F will be available in spring 07 and I will have to decide if I should pull the trigger or pass and go with the GT-R in spring 08. It makes the decision harder since there is not firm GT-R info available(only rumors). Would appreciate any input regarding this decison.

haha lucky you. i have the same dilemma but dont have deposits. the GT-R will be a monster, definitely an M3/997S contender. the IS-F i have doubts, but of course will have more luxury. i think i would go for the GT-R, but i hope dealing with nissan dealerships wont be a pain in the ***... Also, if the IS-F looks badass with many changes over the 350, then I just might get that instead.

IS-F is coming out in Dec 07 not Spring 07, No?
BTW I am also make my next car choice between those two but can't decide until I know what kind of 8 spd auto the IS-F will have.

Until you can see both cars in the flesh I don't see how you can make a choice at this point. I'd have to see how they look, their features, and their PRICES before I could make up my mind. I think your cart is a bit ahead of the horse at this point. Enthusiasm is a great thing ..... but think with your head and not your heart (emotions).

Here let me help u with that decision, it should be quite clear who the winner should be. You have a car that has both race and street reputation, a "long" history of evolution/developement, and a great DNA passed down from previous generations.
I know I WILL have one !!!!!!

Either of these cars will be the big dogs of their classes but they are different classes. IS F for the people who want speed with their luxury and GT R for people who want speed with their speed. Also won't there be a slight price differential with the GT R being 15k to 20K more expensive?

That would be a hard choice. If you have an IS then go for the GTR. If your going to trade the car you have for one or the other then you might want to consider the IS F. I would have to see the carsin person and see if I could test drive the cars. I already have an IS350 and love the new designh of the GTR. I have a feeling that the price when it comes out will be way over MSRP!!
