I'd love some input from you guys - I purchased my F at 29,500 miles and now it has a bit over 30k. I've read in other threads that there's a bunch of things that do not need to be done at 30k that Lexus charges us for. There's a place near my office that was started by ex-Lexus and ex-Mercedes mechanics and they charge less for the same service. I am not sure I need everything included below. Are there some things I can cross off the list and save some $$? The seller included a couple previous service records below that I’ve documented..

Seller had the following services performed at 13k miles: August 2012
- Oil Filter
-Oil Change
-Front and Rear brake pads replaced
-Replaced front and rear disc pads
- Topped off Power Steering fluid

Seller had the following done at 18k miles: Dec 2012
- 2 new rear tires
-mount and balance both tires

Seller had the following services performed at 20k miles: March 2013
-Change oil
-Change oil filter
-Checked air filter
-Lubricate chassis, transmission fluid level checked, Differential fluid level ok, power steering fluid level ok, battery water level


Recommended 30k mile service all models 2006 and newer

Oil and filter replacement
Engine air filter replacement
Cabin filter replacement
Brake fluid flush
Battery and charging system inspection
PCV valve replacement(V6 only)
Wiper insert replacementGx/Es Shop photo
Differential gear oil replacement (if applicable)
Brake inspection
Tire rotation, adjust pressures and inspect wear and condition
Suspension inspection
Inspect drivetrain for leaks
Inspect window and door lock operation

$360 plus taxes and fees

30k miles: oil and filter, air filter, brake fluid flush, and diff fluid for piece of mind but not needed.
Tires and brakes, you can self check and assess if replacement is required.

And "topped off power steering fluid?" I wonder how much the service charge for that one was........

last time I was in they quoted me $700 for 30k service . Considering I will need new tires at the next service its going to be a big one, even if I get the tires through discount tire. ( whats frustrating is that even though discount tire is always a little cheaper for the tires than Lexus I always have to take it to Lexus for an additional$120 balance job. Considering this I will add $120 to the discount tire quote. Its just not worth my time to go back over and over and over for them to never get the balance spot on and perfect.

There are quite a few things on that list not applicable to the IS-F (in this case, any Lexus sedan) which is why I'd like to know what year. Then we can get the right list, not something a dealership put together 15 years ago and never changed.

It is a 2011. The list is not necessarily for an IS-F they just lump year model of the Lexus' together. Once I bring in the car and they see it's an F they may recommend different things. Below is the webpage I got the list from...

I assuming you have some warranty left on your car? For a few dollars more I would bring it to my Lexus dealership (unless you have heard bad things about them) and let them work on your car while giving you a free loaner...no worries that way! I would work to build a relationship with them and hopefully they will work with you on things...I know ours does here in Tampa!!! Just my 2 cents!

ooh sweet I'm at 29300 right now.. Not looking forward to a hefty service bill again, I already went through rotors, pads, and 2 sets of tires

Main things are the do oil change, air filter, cabin filter. Brake fluid can stay unless you want it to, or you are going to track. Rest is fluff. Earlier ISX50s said to change diff fluid at 60k then later was removed. Thats dirt easy to change if you ever felt like doing it

Yes I am actually in the midst of having the seller transfer his warrant to me (72 mo's 100k miles) and I will then see what it covers. But if I can take it down the street from my office for a few hours at this place and the price is right, it could be worth while.
