Default Water Pump/Radiator Question

Hello everyone, I'm a relatively new IS-F owner. Earlier in 2016 I bought a 2008 one with about 45k miles on it. I use it as my daily driver and have put about 15k on it within a year. At my last scheduled service they informed me my water pump was leaking and I should get it replaced soon. I did some research and realize this is a somewhat common problem on the 2008s so I decided to get it replaced. I'm very mechanically ignorant so no chance I could do it myself. I dropped it off at the dealer this morning and I get a call to inform me that in the process of replacing the water pump it's *possible* a small fragile piece on the radiator can break. Forgive me for not remembering the specific part, but they said if it breaks I'd have to replace the entire radiator as well. I'm fairly concerned by this. Any idea what they're talking about and if this is common? I have this feeling I'm getting somewhat fleeced.

Ask if the update for the fan bolts is already completed. If it is not, have them do that first. If the radiator breaks because of this update, Lexus covers a new radiator and catch tank. Many of us have had this done and receive new parts even well after the factory warranty has expired.

If you want to PM me your VIN, I can check to see if this work was already completed.

I wonder if its the overflow tank nipple that comes off of the radiator.
