Default New IS F Short Ram Intake from AFE/Takeda

I just saw that this was recently released and from the pics it's really interesting because it attaches to the passenger side and retains the factory airbox and dual stage intake.

The link below has pictures of the intake along with one in the engine bay and a pdf of the installation instructions. This looks like a really good alternative to the K & N that loses some of the attributes we all like about the factory intake. It also comes with a dry filter.

Looks interesting but I would be surprised it if flows any better than the Joe Z tube and a Tom's or aFe dry panel filter in the stock box. (which would be cheaper)

^ UCrazyKid, you're right. i like the Joe Z tube and Tom's drop in filter, and it saves about $100 compared to this product. but whoever tests this out, please post a video. id like to hear it out, as well as see if there are any comparable gains over the competitors.

This intake looks interesting and of good quality. I would like to see a SAE corrected dyno sheet validating the claims.

Not that much price difference actually between this intake versus the JOE Z intake ($140.00) plus the Toms air filter ($130.00), actually only a $75.00 price difference. If the power claims are real, the $75.00 would be more than worth it, as the Joe Z intake claims about a 5 HP increase.

Interesting Whoever buys this can do a pre and post dyno to solidify the advertised gains. I noticed a gap on the side of the intake will that affect performance?

5RWHP equals to more or less 10BHP....

I am going by standard correction factor, with most automatic transmissions have around 15 - 18 % drivetrain loss. If this new intake promisses 16 HP and 15 TQ SAE corrected, then the $75.00 additional to the Joe Z intake and Toms filter would be more than worth it to me...

I ordered one last week when I saw it. Like the design alot especially since it retains the stock airbox. Don't know about that window on the side though, I'm thinking its for access to the filter to tighten/loosen if needed and they have a way to close it up. I'll know more when I get it and share.
