Thanks JoeZ for the ideas - this will be a project I will tackle after taking care of some other basic things....

Actually back on my old Eclipse I had a shop fabricate a 4x6" tip once however the edge was the thin-wall design type with a straight cut. For the IS-F to pull it off it must be a thicker rolled-edge tip. I'll talk to some machine shops to see if the cost is prohibitive here. Making one-off tips would be very cool.

I wonder what Lexus charges for the OEM shroud with tips from parts?

I prefer the ls460 exhaust cutouts...

Don't know why they call them "Diffusers," more like "Con-Fusers"

Just to keep things in perspective...remember, although controversial and to some unappealing the IS-F exhaust tips are setting trends. There are some serious players here following suit:

Bentley GT Speed ASI

Bentley Flying Spur ASI

Acura Advanced Sportscar Concept

Ferrari California

Ok, lets not turn this into rocket science here.

Let me explain, why I think they are designing exhaust like this.

For one simple reason, they can implement an exhaust look that can be somewhat unique to their own design + the added value that these exhaust (CUT-OUTS) will be solid and move with the car (attached to the bumper) as opposed to flopping up / down against the car--like the is350 exhaust.

My simple theory....

thanks for the part numbers and prices - I'm very serious about making a new set of tips!

Prefer to buy a used shroud setup if anyone has a pair for sale? I have access to a machine shop so let's get his rolling.
