Sport mode usage
IS F owners - how do you use the sport button?
1) I use it all the time (hope I don't go blind).
2) I use it once in a while as a special treat.
3) I never use it.

I almost lost control of the car a couple weeks back when I punched it going around a freeway on-ramp in sport mode... I was able to recover and I don't recall hearing the VDIM ever come on/alert... I will definitely use it more judiciously from now on.

You've got to be careful when switching to Sport. The adjusted throttle response gets me every time. The Lexus Driving Experience really helped me learn how to use the throttle in and out of corners to keep the car balanced and not activate the VDIM. But I do love that sport mode. Try not to drive your car of a cliff.

I find driving in normal is like driving the IS350 in normal... Sport mode all the way. I never took my car out of sport mode when I had it. Same w/ the IS-F, except I can't leave it in sport mode... bummer!

It would be nice if the toggle switch for sport mode was located elsewhere - e.g. steering wheel or next to gear lever wouldn't it?

Also, here's a novel thought.. I'll bet you and I get better gas mileage when in sport mode...

The reason I said it maybe gets better gas mileage is because I'm always gunning it... I figure if it's not in sport mode then it requires more of a push to go fast, and that might use more gas then just driving in sport mode..
Any comments?

Bottom line is that going faster uses more gas, sport mode or not.. And BTW sport mode just changes throttle response, as in how much dip into the throttle it takes for the engine and tranny to respond...
