Default IS250 C Convertible automatic window problem

I purchased a used 2010 IS250C and the driver's front automatic window doesn't work correctly.
When I hit the switch once to go down it works fine but when I hit it once to go up it goes all the way up and then comes back down about 1/4 of the way and stops.
I can close the window all the way by hitting the switch in little bursts.
I am not sure if it is unique to the convertible as when you open and close the doors the windows come down and back up a tiny bit so there may be some kind of special sensor on the convertible?
Wondering if anyone else may have had this issue before?
Thanks

you need to reset the window, check your owners manual on how to do it. Should be fine after that.

you can post in here next time for the rest of the C owners to help you out with any other questions. Welcome to club lexus

Default Location in Owners manual?

Cool. Thanks. Do you know what section of the owners manual that is located in?
My IS didn't come with an owners manual. I looked at the Lexus site in the online owner manual but don't see it under window operation and can't find it in another area.

Page 84, with the ignition in the on position, at the window with the problem hold the window switch in down and continue holding for 6 seconds after window is open, then hold the switch in the up position till window closes then 2 more seconds, then hold the switch in the down position till open then 2 more seconds.
One other thing I found on my ISC is if the rear window is not fully closed the front window will not fully close and do the small open close when opening the door.

One other thought, did you try to disconnect the battery and reset everything?

I just got my is250c last week and had the same issue. When that happens the windows need to be re initialized. to do this go to the drivers side window and push and hold the driver side window button to lower the window all the way down. continue to hold it down for about 5-7 seconds after it is all the way down. then bring the window all the way up and do the same thing holding the button down for an additional 5-7 seconds. then do the same thing going down again. That will fix that window. You will have to do this again in the passenger seat with the passenger window as well. That should do it.

I just had this same problem in my 2011 350C. After countless times of rolling the window up and down (I tried every reset combination I could find online and none of them worked) it turns out that my car needs to have the window rolled up and held for closer to 12 seconds than 7. In my manual the reset procedure is roll window halfway down, then roll up for and hold for 7 seconds, roll down and hold for two seconds, roll up and hold for two seconds. Using the one touch option.

I was in my garage late last night and it was really quiet and I was playing with the windows, I knew it was the pinch sensor that was the problem since it was happening on both the front windows. So I started once again, roll the window up and hold, well I held it for much longer than I had in the past and then there was an audible click from the window motor, I then rolled the window down and held, and sure enough there it was again, the click, then I rolled it up again, held until I heard the click. Woohoo the window started working correctly again. Over to the passenger side, some procedure, same click. I struggled with this for about a week so I thought I should post it somewhere.

I know this is an old thread, but I just installed WeatherTech window visors on my 2006 Lexus GS and cannot get the auto windows to stay up. I've done the "Hold till you hear the click" on both the Up and Down. But, still the windows reverse after closing. All windows, front and back.

Any other suggestions?

Hi, I have a 2010 which have problem resetting passenger window.Starting with the passenger window was on and off, and stop working. My mechanic found that the connection was loose and came out. Reconnect it back, and window up and down very weird. He do several way to reset but no work. Advise me to take to dealer for reprogramming.
Took my car there and get appointment for next week, labor will be around 150 to 230.00 w/o parts. Go home search thru this forum and thank you so much Moffutt, follow your instructions, my window is good now. Thanks again your guys for helps.
