Default My new IS350C

Hey all,
picked up my 2014 IS350C yesterday from the folks at Lexus of Monterey Peninsula and although the weather was a sunny 65 degees, I am suffering from a head cold and left the top up for the ride home. Here are some pictures.

This was a special order car, as I wanted the red interior which was introduced this year, as well as the Dynamic Radar Cruise control, which I just love. It has all the options I could get.. Park Assist, Mark Levinson sound system, headlamp washers and I opted for the G-spider wheels.

I like the red stitching on the steering wheel and armrest.. Very nice touches, although I wish they would've wrapped the shift **** in red leather also... I see one on ebay for sale that I may purchase.

Comparatively speaking, this car reminds me alot of the 2004 BMW M3 convertible that I previously owned... albeit with an automatic transmission... good power, nice handling and much more luxury and technology that the M3 had...

oh yeah.. i also got 1 year of free SiriusXM radio.. Normally it's 3 months, but the Lexus "December to Remember" sales event is going on right now and that's one of the perks. :-)

I'm still reading all the manuals and going over everything... So far, it's all I expected and MORE!!!

I really do love it Tom. So envious of the 65 degree weather. It is about 20 here today. Probably no more top down till March. I also envy the 100 extra h.p.

Enjoy!

Thanks guys... I have such a horrible cold that there is no "new car" smell.. UGH.. that sucks.. I hope this goes away soon!!

I've been over the manuals... still fiddling with the settings of everything... There were 3 voice messages in the system telling me how to change the settings of the vehicle and it said to go into Settings --> Vehicle and that I would see an option to change everything from how the doors lock to how long to leave the headlights on after leaving the car... I did not see these options... Any advice?

There is a button to the left of the steering wheel and it has two arrows on it. It controls a lot of settings. Not sure if it's what you were looking for or not.

And BTW love that interior!

some observations:

Radar cruise control works great, however, you can only adjust it up or down in 5 MPH increments, which is pretty strange... On my 2012 Prius, i would adjust up or down in 1 MPH increments moving the stalk up or down quickly, and holding it there for a second or two would do the 5 MPH increment.. The manual clearly states that it can only do 5 MPH increments. Weird.

The ability to have car read me my text messages is AWESOME. I am using an iPhone 5 and it was easy to set up...

More details to follow as I learn more about my car.

I tell you something that I just discovered this week. That is the windshield defrost button. Instead of having to fumble with the controls, you just push that button and the w/s is clear in no time! Of course, in CA you might not need that feature.

Does this describe the options you want to set:

http://www.lexus.com/pdf/service/IS_LPS.pdf

If so, I think this is what you need:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...s-allowed.html

I believe that software and cable is also needed to install updated navigation maps from a USB flash drive.

yeah.. that's what I was hoping to have access to within the navigation interface, like my Prius had.. I could do a lot of that myself...

Oh you want all the options you can customize with the TechStream software.

My friend has that on his laptop and customized all my stuff, like my annoying seatbelt alarm. I don't need an alert to remind to put a seatbelt on, I always ride with one!
