Default ISC Windscreen

Hi there,

I am thinking about buying the windscreen for my IS 250C. My questions to ISC owners,
Do you find the windscreen effective in cutting turbulence and wind noise? If yes, up to what speed you driving?

Thanks,
Kevin

Hey,

I am not sure if you checked out the Sewell Closeout deals yet, but there is one for $292. http://lexus.sewellparts.com/closeout.html

Thanks a lot. I jumped on it, definitely worth a shot at this price.

ive read that it does help out. Not sure how much but thats just what i read from other owners. That sale is a good jump from msrp but I would not buy it unless it was under $100. thats just me though

I will. I don't think the windscreen costs more than $50 to make, but it is $600 elsewhere

I received the windscreen from Sewell, great company to deal with. Only drove on local roads so far, it cut wind noise and turbulence significantly, almost felt like driving with the hard top on.

It was 80F in LA yesterday. So I took it on the freeway. Basically I found that the windscreen is very effective up to 50MPH or so, like I said in the last report.

Thanks to the windscreen, there is no increase in turbulence at freeway speed. Somewhere from 50MPH to 60MPH, tire and wind noise increases significantly. You can still carry a conversation without much strain. But I just don't enjoy that noisy experience, so I wouldn't drive on freeway regularly with the top off. Hope this helps.

The windscreen definitely help in my girlfriend IS350C. The only problem with it is that it is very fragile. The piece that tucks between the rear headrests and passenger seats snapped off so just beware when putting it away.

For the $600+ price Lexus charges, the windscreen should be made from Aluminum instead of plastic.

The lexus windscreen definately cuts down on noise and turbulance. I used it frequently before the temp. drop and was able to talk on the phone (through teh bluetooth of course) without the other person noticing much increase in noise upto about 75 mph. It is definately overpriced but very nice to have if you want to talk on the phone while driving on the freeways.
