Default Input on ISC or infinity convertible

My wife wants a convertible, we own an IS350 & 2003 MR2 with 40k miles that I was thinking of keeping for my daughter who is four. Rear engine drive, no longer made but the more I thought about it, it is not a very safe car for a new driver and insurance is more expensive for the MR2 than my IS. Here are the pros and cons on both that I know about. I do not know too much about Infinity.

Lexus,
Pros.
Spite recalls good company.
Beautiful car.
Posible $1,500 loyalty check.
I know it will be reliable for years.
Comes as a 250 lower cost.
Trunk space.
Cons.
I would be driving the same car little difference.
Price premium, local dealership has limited supplies.
Infinity
Pros.
Local dealership has ample supplies maybe better deal.
Fast, seven speeds.
different car.
Cons.
Not sure about reliability.
Comes only as one model.
The back end does not do anything for me.
no trunk space.
I would like your input

First thing you should learn is that it's spelled Infiniti. No y involved. The G37 is a great car, fast, strong handling and easily modified if that's what you're into. I'd get the G37 Coupe Convertible if it was me. There is very little trunk space, you're correct about that but I do believe it comes both in the G37 and G37S models, may want to check your dealership.

I've almost bought a convertable twice now... I woulda got one if the color combo I was looking for was availiable anywhere near me... the isc is a nice car the rear is a bit funny looking but it'll probably grow on ya. I say get it and in 12 years when ur daughter is ready to drive it'll be a sweet starter car!

i would get the infiniti just to spice things up and also because the inifiniti would be much faster than the 250.

however if your really planning on saving the car for your daughter, i would suggest the lexus. only lexus reliability will last long enough to see your daughter. 12 years + another 2-4 years your daughter spends driving is a long time for a car

I think by you not being able to spell it, it is another example of how far this brand has to come to be credible and simply not worth the money. The G37 looks like a giant SC 430 with a worse interior and far more cowl shake and a smaller trunk. Stock for stock it will drive sportier unless you slap F-sport parts on.

The IS doesn't look at good but the pros car outweigh the cons. You also can lease an Infiniti for like $59 a month so if you lease its a better buy.

I have driven both, the G37 looks better IMO... but the interior felt very cheap.

Test drive them both and go woth your heart. You should be able to get a good deal on either one as it is end of year sale.

Not a fan of convertibles but I would go with the G37 based on just looks. 516IS is right though, g35/37 interior is awful.

How important is to keep this car for your daughter? 12-14 years is a very long time. Maybe you should focus on your wifes comfort since you seem to be getting it for her since you already have an IS 350. Just let her test a few cars. May end up with an SLK or something.

I don't know about ya'll, but the first car my kid is probably getting is a Corolla. Cheap, safe (enough?), not enough horse power to get into too much trouble albiet they can still got 110+ mph (but it would take longer heh).

I would go with the ISC hands down. I use to own a G35 and am still a huge fan of that particular car but the G37 does not measure up. If you are looking for affordable power then G37 but keep in mind the interior quality is eh, so be prepared for creaks, rattles, etc. If you want dependability and overall a great car then the ISC. I will have to say however ISC and G37 coupes are uber feminime imo so I can only see women driving them. But to each his own. Good luck on the new purchase!!!!
