Default Found a Great Lease Deal on a 2010 Lexus IS250C Convertible

I have been searching for a 1 or 2 year old Lexus and was deciding between the RX and IS Convertible. I found a seller in VA that put down a chunk of change to bring his payment down to $786/month. The dealers are offering the same car with no money down for $900-$950. What do you guys think? Here is the car I found - http://www.globalautosports.com/car/...ble-31697.html

I negotiated an E92 m3 coupe down to 1k a month with 0$ out of pocket. If you're paying $900-$950 for an Is250C, that's way too much IMO. 45k for that car is ridiculous. Do you know what you can get for 45k or $900+ a month?

Buy:

ISF
New M3 sedan (and probably squeeze a coupe)
E60 M5
RS4
CLS55 or CLS63 AMG
E63 AMG
C63 AMG
06-07 Z06
Convertible 08-09 vette

Lease:
range rover sport
escalade
numerous lux/sport cars better then the is250C

Just take my advice and go DRIVE an IS250 before you spend almost 1k a month on one. I love the IS, but I couldn't imagine spending over 40k unless it was for an ISF and even THAT would be hard for me to do.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Steve, I will check out the new M3 coupe, I like the E46 body also but any 05 or 06 w/low miles is over $25K. Might just man up and get the 2011 if I can get one for under 1k/month with $3,000 out of pocket. My girl is a big fan of the IS and Lexus isn't too bad on maintenance. BMW maintenance is free so the makes my decision easier.

I can't think of any good reason to ever lease a car. Buy the car, take excellent care of it, sell it, buy a new one, and so on.

Prices out here are jacked way up, but here is what i got... $48k, $0 down, $718 monthly. (Finance)

I guess credit is where the difference is and what your apr% is. Are they offering anywhere from 5-7% apr?

I wouldnt consider $900/month for a 250C, but If you wanna play you gotta pay. GL on finding the car you want.

what? Are you nuts? Buying brand new cars and then selling them in 2-3 years is retarded. if you're going to do that, your always better off leasing and just giving it back (IF YOU WANT TO GET A NEW CAR EVERY 2-3 YEARS).

If you're gonna buy preowned, keep for 2-3 years, then sell, that may make sense if you get a good deal.

Now, I cant think of any reason to EVER buy a used car from a dealer. You always get hammered.

That dude got ripped off by Lexus. I could have almost 2 of my IS350's on lease for what he's paying for ONE IS250c. Terrible deal.

That's not true. I got a 09 IS250 AWD for 28k a month back, after doing the calculations I actually matched (i think i actually slightly beat) the best lease rate people were getting the year before. Leasing is actually the worst because there are so many hidden fees it makes your head spin.. along with millage limits, etc. My interest rate was also 3.09% (3.41% apr), which is better than some people get on NEW cars. Used cars are always a better deal since new cars lose value once you drive them off the lot, you just have to know how to shop. I saved 6k over buying a new '10 is250 awd and i got all the options i wanted (minus bluetooth). But I mean if you want to pay an extra $875 on destination charges alone, be my guest

There are benefits to new, used and lease depending on what you want and how long you want to keep it. New depreciates a lot, but warranty is good for some people. Used is cheaper and if in good condition well worth it. If you want a new car every few years lease is the way to go.

I was in a pinch and needed a car asap so I got a lease on a decent car that i could afford - swore i'd never do it again cuz i've got nothing to put towards my next car. Fell in love with the IS250 awd and decided to buy an '07 w/ warranty when my lease was up. Then I found out I could lease a 2010 for the same price, and buyout was cheaper than what I was going to pay for the '07. No brainer for me... full warranty, brand new, no doubt about previous owners taking care of it. And for the same price! So now I have my baby and I couldn't be happier.

It all depends on your situation
