Default Stereo Upgrades

I did find one old thread with only a few posts, but there wasn't much information, so I thought I'd ask again...

Has anyone upgraded the stereo in their IS250/350C? Lexus failed miserably in the stereo department -- at least the standard stereo, which is what we have.

Here's what we want. We want clean sound up to a volume level that we can enjoy it with the top down at 80mph, and we don't want to give up the space at the back of the trunk. A little bass would be nice too, but that's secondary to keeping this stealth and not eating up what little space the car comes with. That should have been what the factory offered, but I guess $50k+ isn't enough for them to care about the stereo.

So, what are our options? Can we hide an amp and upgrade the stock speaker locations? Where can we hide the amp? Any place to hide a small sub? No one sits in the back, so we could use the floorboard if we can easily remove it if we do need to carry someone...

Looking for ideas! Thanks.

What type of music were you hoping to listen to at speed?

And how "standard" is your system? Do you have Nav?

I upgraded all the mids and highs along with the center channel in the dash in my sedan. If you get a 5 channel amp you could power everything. I'm not familiar with a location for an amo since I had a sedan. Good luck.
