Isn't that a down grade? It is a IS250c, right?

Don't be so quick to call it a downgrade. There are a number of reasons why the OP wanted to go to a vert:

- Maybe he didn't need a "performance" car anymore
- Perhaps he wants to enjoy the "open air" experience on Fridays after a long week

There are any number of reasons why one would go to the convertible.

A convertible can never be compared with a fixed top equivalent. Verts are their own niche, the same way that trucks are.

to the OP: congrats on your purchase.......

I think if I had the convertible itch, I'll get a newly used Nissan Z for under $25K

Great choice. You will never go back to a hard top again.

No lease and it was an excellent financial decision. Price your F, if you have one, and see what it is worth with original tires and pads.

It was not an easy decision, but I could not justify the new F and sticker price for small mods and the very stiff suspension. My old 07 Corvette was not that stiff.

IMO, the 309 HP C does not compare to the 416 HP F in power, but to me the fun factor in the C is much better.

IMO, I looked at the new Z and it was no way near the fit and finish of the Lexus.

IMHO, BMW engineering is second to Toyota. Nothing personal.

I am going to add my .02 now. I too, test drove an IS-F, it was laughable the amount of power. Its useless to me though, its trouble more than anything. Again, I will reference my 98 SupraTT with 465 hp. Now mind you this was 11 years ago. I Did things with that car that were so stupid they defy reality. Doing 165mph on the highway with 6th gear left to go. Doing 110mph in a 35mph zone going home. Plus the IS-F is overpriced, the same way an M3 is IMHO. 60k? If I am spending 60K it is going to look like no other car, I dont care how fast it is. I love the vert, my other option was an A5/S5 but they wanted an arm and a leg for it. I even test drove a 911 Targa back in the day and passed on it. The 350C is new, refreshing and a great choice. I am loving this car.
