case-in-point.. 49 year old male with clean record for over 30 years.

I pay less than your 6 month rate for 1 year on my RCF with 250K/500K/100K Liability, with $250 deductible on comp/collision, roadside and rental car coverage.

I have 4 vehicles and a house with CA earthquake and been insured with the same company for 30 years, my combo and loyalty discounts cannot be matched by any other company. My total cost for all the vehicles with same coverage and the house/earthquake is $256/month or $3072 a year. Minus out the house/earthquake that comes to $621 a year for each vehicle, however technically the breakdown isn't even, the RCF is the highest, and my motorcycle is the lowest.
That is a great deal. Who are you insured with?

State Farm,
but again, I have loyalty, safe driver, combined vehicle/home, low annual mileage etc. discounts:

Your rates would not even come close to mine..

Here is my breakdown: (pulled right off my State Farm App).
Liability - Bodily Injury / Property Damage $250,000 each person / $500,000 each accident $100,000 each accident Premium $306.97 /12 mos
Coverage Details Uninsured Motor Vehicle - Bodily Injury $250,000 each person / $500,000 each accident Premium $67.20 /12 mos
Coverage Details Uninsured Motor Vehicle - Property Damage $1,000 each accident Premium $3.78 /12 mos
Coverage Details Comprehensive Deductible $250 Premium $139.14 /12 mos
Coverage Details Collision Deductible $250 Premium $452.47 /12 mos
Coverage Details Car Rental and Travel Expenses 80% of Cost Max $1,000 Premium $15.80 /12 mos

Total Premium $985.36
(total premium includes your discounts)

Discounts:
Multiple Line, Driver Safety Record, California Good Driver, Multicar, Loyalty >30 year, Drive Safe & Save
Total: $2,666.23 / 12 mos

So you see my rate is $3,651.59 per year, minus $2,666.23 in discounts = $985.36 on my RCF, and my discounts would not apply to you or anyone else, and my comp rates are based on my zip code, and my Drive Safe & Save based on my home to work commute distance, The 30 year loyalty discount makes up about 50% of those discounts, which kind of sucks for me because I can't actually rate shop, no one can match that discount, so it's getting harder and harder to press my agent to keep the rates low because he knows damn well no other company will offer me the loyalty discount. Thankfully State Farm has never screwed me on a claim.

as I said in my previous post, the breakdown isn't even, the RCF costs more than my Camry, 1932 Ford Hot Rod, and motorcycle. The RCF is $985 a year, the Camry is $661, the Hot Rod is $596 and the Motorcycle is $242.

The Hot Rod, Motorcycle, and the Camry are all driven under 5K a year, that gives a separate discount, and the Hot Rod has a classic car rider so it has a zero deductible with a requirement to replace any part with an original part unless unavailable, then it can be replaced with an owner approved remanufactured or equivalent replacement part.

Insurance is just too subjective, there will never be 2 people paying the same for the same coverage because everyone situation and circumstances are different.

Consider yourselves lucky lol. Canadian Auto Rates (especially Toronto) are ridiculous. 2015 IS350 Fsport. Im paying $267/month. My 2010 BMW 328 before my 3IS i was paying $261. To put this in perspective, When i was 21 I leased a brand new Subary Legacy, Insurance payments was double my lease payment at roughly $650/month. I was a "new driver" with no previous insurance record.

I'd consider that pretty cheap lol. I only have 1 conviction minor ticket. And that's including a discount for having multiple vehicles (parents have 3 vehicles). Looks like i need to shop around when it comes time for Renewal. For those in the States...you guys have 6 month renewal policies? i believe here its only per year, as far as i'm aware.

I would yes.

I don't shop based solely on price, I look for the service and ability to address my needs.

my agent has been there for me though some major stuff, a horrific motorcycle accident, vandalism of a previous vehicle, even most recently when some punk being chased by the police smashed through my mothers retaining wall that separates her home from the main boulevard. I have found that State Farm has always treated me fairly which is why I have stayed with them.

I can't say you will get the best rate, but I can say you will get the best service from my experience..

don't know your location in CA, but my Agent is Gary Blackburn in Mission Viejo, (949-581-0800), you don't need to be local to him, everything is done online (I am 70 miles from him myself). At the very least give him a call and see what he can do.

State Farm was alright too but the premium keep increasing for no reason in Canada Ontario, beside that, they are good service and best customer assisting when it comes to accident, they will be there for you, if State Farm premium rate is low i would go back to State Farm, i don't know about USA but in Canada they are nice people in their Company.

Statefarm for me was OK until I bought the IS.
They quoted me almost $3000 a year for the IS200t, while AAA was $2400.
I finally got Geico for around $1300 a year.
I liked Statefarm, great customer service, but their premiums is ridiculous.

you get what you pay for.. There is a reason Geico is so low.. Did they quote you the same services? probably not, and guess where they will be when you make a claim.. no where to be found. They are also not considered to be financially solvent, in 2015 for every $1 in premiums GEICO earned in, it paid out $0.98 in losses and expenses. A pre-tax operating profit of under 2% compared to the national average of 11.4% for most carriers. https://www.fool.com/investing/gener...on-record.aspx

out of the top 41 carriers in CA State Farm ranks #2 as the most reliable, financially solvent, easiest claims process, coverage options, discounts, and customer support, second only to Nationwide.

Geico ranks #40 second to last with Progressive being dead last.

to each there own, but it is not always about getting the best price.. at least for me..

Yeah. I was with Statefarm for 5 years before the IS and is very pleased with their service. I just couldn't stomach the 3 grand premium for my 10 miles daily commute.
I actually got higher coverage with Geico for less, but yes I know Geico is at the bottom of the tier list.
Planning on going back after car payments are done.
