Default Replace 2014 Nav unit at dealer - upgrade?

My navigation unit is making a bad grinding/rattling sound, like a bad computer fan. I've suffered with a lot of the 2014 nav issues (glitches etc), and now that the fan in the unit is probably bad I might end up with a replacement.

Is there any chance that the replacement unit - if the dealer replaces it - will be actually better than the one I have now? Faster and more reliable as the newer cars are?

I doubt it. Mine was replaced because the Lexus technician said that it was corrupted. It performs at the same speed, without the issues that I had before, so I would say more reliable, yes - faster, no.

I had mine also replaced because of the software being corrupted.(random reboots). The new unit is more reliable(no random reboots so far) and the speed stayed the same.

I had mine replaced several months ago under warranty because it kept loosing all the customized settings and presets. The new one has no issues but isn't any faster.
