Default Paint protection film? Dealer or aftermarket?

Hey guys!

I'm buying a 2017 IS200t from a dealership in Texas and getting it shipped to Nor Cal.

I wanted to know if its worth getting the PPF on the new car?

If yes, then should I get it done from the dealer there in Texas, or aftermarket here in Nor. Cal?

Id' appreciate your feedback!

Thanks!

This thread seems to be dealing with the same thing... In fact you posted there.

I'd say it's absolutely worth getting it done, but I am neither from Texas nor Nor Cal.

I would prefer to find a place near me so I could contact them if there's ever an issue. The dealer in Texas would most likely have a third party install it, and you'll never know what was applied.

Find a certified installer near you - Xpel http://www.xpel.com/locator/search/c...es/California/

I didn't see installers on SunTek's website, but, it's possible that places install both brands.

I got it aftermarket since I wanted Xpel full hood. I think the dealer ones only go up to half the hood and use 3M.

Aftermarket. The dealerships only install 3M for the most part. I went with full Xpel as well. I tried both and the Xpel is a million times better. You cannot even see the Xpel unless you look very closely. The 3m was very apparent. Dealers try to hire the cheapest 3rd party applicators they can.

Aftermarket for me. Full XPEL coverage, and never regretted the decision.

I installed llumar and it became yellow and lost its shine, so I remived it and installed Xpel ultimate. After a year of installing the Xpel film it became yellow also snd lost its shine . Luckily the warranty from the Xpel store covered color changing, so I replaced the film. I guess no ppf can stand the weather here !
