I'm thinking of trading my 2006 ls430 for a 2014+ IS 350. I know these are completely different cars but one of the things I like about the LS is the smooth engine/shifting. How does the IS compare? Does up and down shifts jerk?

I am not a previous LS owner, but as for the shift quality, go on a test drive. Also, try both the 200t/350 RWD as well as the 300/350 AWD. The RWD models have the 8-speed, and the AWD models have the 6-speed. There will likely be slightly smoother shifts in the 8-speed.
